Where can classic anime series One Piece be seen online and is it available on Netflix, Hulu or Prime? One Piece is a manga created by Eiichiro Oda and centers around Monkey D. Luffy, who assembles a pirate crew and sets off on an epic quest to uncover a treasure buried by the legendary "Red Haired" Shanks. Luffy also has the ability to stretch like rubber, having eaten a special type of fruit that gives him this power. The manga soon became an anime series in 1999, and while the story setup may sound relatively straightforward, both the manga and show have been running for over 20 years.

Outside of One Piece's adventure framework, the franchise is packed with great characters and lore, and the anime has managed to keep the adventures of Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates remarkably fresh over the decades. Aside from the anime One Piece has also spawned animated movies, including 2000's fittingly titled One Piece: The Movie and One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island, from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time director Mamoru Hosoda. The manga ranks among the likes of similarly long-running series like Dragon Ball and hitman saga Golgo 13 as one of the best-selling of all time, and the franchise itself is worth billions.

The One Piece anime has run for over an unbelievable 900 episodes since its debut, so fans and newcomers alike have plenty of material to sift through. For those who want to dive in, there are plenty of streaming options for the show available. Hulu has eleven seasons - and over 700 episodes - while Netflix has four series; anime streaming service Funimation also has thirteen seasons of One Piece.

Amazon also has many seasons of One Piece available to purchase, with full season prices typically starting from $14.99. While the franchise seems as popular as ever, creator Oda is gearing up to bring his epic manga saga to a conclusion in around five years time. This is somewhat ironic as he originally thought the story would only last a few years, only to realize there was much more to tell and he was having too much fun writing it.

One Piece fans still have time to make peace with the manga ending, and a live-action TV series is currently in the works at Netflix. No release date or casting has been confirmed, though this series will run for ten episodes. Given the sheer, overwhelming wealth of source material the showrunners have to work with, it has the potential to run for a long time if viewers like it. That said, it'll be real tricky translating One Piece's unique tone and style into a live-action series.
