Netflix will be adding the long-running anime series, One Piece, to their catalog. The anime series won't be coming in full, though, as only the first two arcs will be available - The "East Blue" and "Alabasta" sagas.

Starting June 12, ahead of the live-action show in development for the streaming service, Netflix (via Twitter) will offer the first two sagas of the long-running anime. "East Blue" is the first (and introductory) saga to the One Piece canon and spans 54 episodes beginning at episode 1. "Alabasta" is the next saga after "East Blue" and is covered with 69 episodes, starting with episodes 62. This brings the total to 123 episodes for both sagas, but if Netflix includes the filler episodes, a robust 130. For those looking to get into the popular anime adaption of the iconic manga, these first two story arcs are a great jumping point for a series consisting of a daunting 900+ episode count.

The first two sagas of One Piece mark a return of the anime to Netflix ahead of the live-action adaptation planned. This is a great opportunity to introduce more people to the beloved series ahead of it, but it's unclear how well the anime will translate into a live-action adaptation. No matter what, the first two sagas of One Piece will be available to stream starting June 12 in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

One Piece's synopsis reads: The series focuses on Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who, inspired by his childhood idol and powerful pirate "Red Haired" Shanks, sets off on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find the titular treasure and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates.
