One Piece has recently expanded into the realm of card games, and many fans find the whimsical nature of the series' characters to be a natural fit for such a medium. Several characters in this popular anime series possess unique abilities granted by Devil Fruit that let them perform powerful feats.
However, while most of the Devil Fruit powers are strong, some are much more bizarre than others. From characters that can turn into moving, armored fortresses to people that act as human juicers, One Piece has shown incredible diversity and creativity in its character and power designs.
Luffy
Luffy's Devil Fruit, is Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika, is considered one of the most powerful Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits. It also comes with many interesting quirks.
This powerful fruit gives Luffy's body a permanent rubbery quality. These rubbery abilities allow Luffy to expand and stretch, including the ability to take on a lot of damage. When Gear 5 hits, he looks entirely like a cartoon character, especially when his head covers Kaido's club, and that's beside him looking ancient afterward due to how much it drains out of him. Needless to say, it's a bit of a crazy ride for Luffy when he uses it.
Big Mom
Big Mom is not only known for being one of the most powerful villains in One Piece or for her massive size and gluttonous ways, but she is also known for the abilities that she obtained by eating the Devil Fruit Soru Soru no Mi.
Big Mom is already a large person, but her Devil Fruit can make her size double. Aside from being able to steal souls and create Homies, she can also devour said souls to double in size, including her own soul. She can also infuse these souls into her bones to regenerate any that are broken.
Capone Bege
This mafia don turned pirate that became one of the Supernovas has quite the reputation that follows him. His Devil Fruit abilities are also something that gets talked about quite often.
Bege ate the Shiro Shiro no Mi Devil Fruit, and its body manipulation abilities are far more extreme than most others. Bege can transform his body into a mini fortress that includes canons, a draw bridge, and a small dimension that makes the inside of his body look like a castle, including furniture! He can also house several people as well as horses inside his body.
Blueno
As a former assassin for CP9, Blueno is a very calculating and cunning man with many skills. He also has one of the more entertaining and ridiculous Devil Fruit abilities.
Using the Doa Doa no Mi Devil Fruit, Blueno can create a door out of any surface. He can even create a door using a human host, and such is the case when he created a revolving door out of Luffy's face causing him to become dizzy. Not only is this ability often useful, but it's also shocking to many characters who witness it.
Charlotte Smoothie
Devil Fruit is one of the best anime power systems, and Charlotte Smoothie's Devil Fruit is undoubtedly one of the strongest (and strangest) in One Piece. It's not a power that's both unexpected and unsettling for those that witness it.
Smoothie is one of the many children that Big Mom has; she is also known for her incredibly long legs and her ability to drain people and nonliving things after eating the Shibo Shibo no Mi Devil Fruit. She grabs what she is going for, twists them up, and wrings them out like a wet towel to suck down their juice. Aside from the living victim feeling extremely dehydrated after, it does not damage them in the long run. It might, however, leave some mental scarring behind.
Buffalo
One Piece is known for its widely diverse character designs, and many are more odd-looking than others. Buffalo doesn’t exactly look like a typical human being. With his extremely large and disproportionate body and thin limbs, his unique appearance is equally matched by his odd Devil Fruit abilities.
After eating the Guru Guru no Mi, Buffalo can use any disproportionate body part to spin like a propeller. He can also create a centripetal force while spinning his body parts and use it to strengthen his force attacks. Buffalo's flying abilities can be used as a great form of transportation for normal-sized individuals.
Wapol
One Piece's deep lore is full of characters with bizarre, stylized appearances. Like Buffalo, Wapol has a unique look and a strange Devil Fruit to match.
The Baku Baku no Mi Devil Fruit gave Wapol the ability to expand his jaws/mouth to eat virtually anything and transform his body to match the quality of whatever he's consumed within 24 hours. He can reconfigure the ingested objects and regurgitate them to create something new. He can also devour people and combine them within himself.
Buggy
Also known as Buggy the Star Clown, Buggy is the captain of the Buggy Pirates and has a very vain and egotistical personality. With his quick recovery time and Devil Fruit abilities, this clown has more than just his funny appearance working for him.
With his Devil Fruit abilities, after eating the Bara Bara no Mi fruit, Buggy can split his body up into pieces and reassemble them while making himself immune to slashing attacks. Except for his feet, this clown can levitate and control his disassembled limbs telekinetically and launch them at an opponent at high speed.
Señor Pink
Señor Pink is one Devil Fruit user who is hard to take seriously, primarily due to his choice to wear baby clothes. However, aside from his strange attire, he also has weird abilities that he obtained after eating the Sui Sui no Mi Devil Fruit.
The abilities he acquired allow him to swim through solid ground and walls. This grants Señor Pink the ability to move underground to attack unsuspecting opponents. While this can help infiltrate enemy bases and commit assassinations, it's rather odd for characters to see a man dressed as a baby swimming through a road.
Katakuri
Katakuri is the Charlotte family's second son and third child. Like his siblings, he is known for his extremely long legs and Devil Fruit abilities that turn him into mochi.
With the ability to turn into and control mochi, he excels in hand-to-hand combat, using the extremely thick adhesive to trap enemies and sprouting tendrils and extra fists and legs to increase his range of attack. It's an interesting ability that mixes combat prowess and delicious food.
