Fans of One Piece know that the best candidate to become the next Pirate King is Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. An incredible statue produced by Last Sleep Studio shows the future Pirate King sitting on his throne, surrounded by the most powerful enemies he had to overcome over the course of his journey.

Luffy left his small village in the East Blue sea with one dream: to reach the legendary island of Laugh Tale, find the treasure left there by Gol D. Roger, the One Piece, and become the greatest pirate to ever sail the seas. The journey was not easy, however, and Luffy and his crew had to beat many mighty foes, including rival pirates, Marines, and officials of the World Government. The most dangerous opponents were waiting for them in the New World, the second half of the Grand Line where only the most powerful and talented pirates dare to set foot. The Straw Hats have to constantly overcome their limits to survive, but they are closing in towards their final goal and the pinnacle of the pirate world, as proven by their current clash with Kaidou and his Beast Pirates.

The statue produced by Last Sleep studio showcases some of the foes that Luffy had to defeat in his path. Starting from the left, the Shichibukai Gecko Moria is surrounded by the shadows he has the power to control. Above him stands the fishman pirate Howdy Jones, the first foe Luffy beat in the New World. Moving up there is Crocodile, who Luffy defeated early on during his trip on the Grand Line, but was still a memorable opponent. Above him looms Donquixote Doflamingo, one of the most dangerous enemies the Straw Hat ever had to face, who boasted a powerful Devil Fruit, was the leader of a large underground organization, and even had secret connections with the World Government. On the right side, God Ener, the tyrant of Skypeia Island, stands ready to strike. Below him are the two mighty sons of the pirate Empress Big Mom, Cracker and Katakuri, who required Luffy to unlock his new Snakeman form to defeat them. Finally, in the bottom right corner stands Rob Lucci, the strongest agent of the secret government organization known as CP0, who gave the Straw Hats a real hard time in the past.

The center of the statue is reserved for the future Pirate King, of course, standing upon his throne, cape fluttering in the air while his Haki energy rises from his body. The most amazing detail, however, is at the back of the sculpture. There, a young Luffy stands crying, with his trademark straw hat pressed down on his head. This scene represents the moment when Luffy said farewell to his idol, Red-Haired Shanks, and promised to follow up in his footsteps to become the greatest pirate in the world. It is an incredible callback to the moment when Luffy's journey started, while the front of the statue depicts the obstacles he had to overcome on that path. The sculpture is a limited edition, with only 288 pieces made, and it sells at more than 2,000 dollars. It will be released worldwide in mid-2022.

Similar to the incredible Blackbeard statue produced by Tsume Art, this sculpture by Last Sleep Studio showcases just why One Piece is one of the most popular manga of the last twenty years, and it will make a great centerpiece for any fan's collection.
