Warning: SPOILERS for chapter #1073 of One Piece. The most powerful characters in the One Piece world, the Gorosei (Five Elders), finally begin moving against Luffy and the other Straw Hats. Chapter #1073 of One Piece reveals, for the first time, the name of one of the members of the Gorosei, Saint JayGarcia Saturn, who has left the safety of Mary Geoise to personally move against the Straw Hats and their newest ally, Dr. Vegapunk.

The Five Elders are the highest-ranking Celestial Dragons that act as the heads of state for the World Government. They are the greatest official authority in the entire One Piece world, with the only exception being the mysterious "King of the World" Im, to whom they answer in secrecy. The Gorosei have absolute command over the forces of the World Government: the Marines (including the powerful Admirals, who only move at the Gorosei's orders), the assassins of Cipher Pol, the Seven Warlords of the Sea before their abolishment, and even the ultra-powerful Seraphim Pacifista are programmed to hold the Five Elders at the top of their chain of command.

One Piece Finally Reveals The Name Of One Of The Five Elders

In the sporadic appearances of the Gorosei in One Piece, none of their names have been revealed, and they have always been shown in their Room of Authority in Pangaea Castle (except for their visit to Im). However, chapter #1073 of One Piece changes both of these facts. The unexpected arrival of the Straw Hats at Egghead Island has stopped the World Government's attempt to assassinate Dr. Vegapunk using the assassins of CP0. In response, Admiral Kizaru set sail for Egghead with a fleet of Navy warships, but he is not alone. One of the Gorosei, whose name is revealed as Saint Jay Garcia Saturn, has left Pangaea Castle and is getting personally involved in this crisis for the first time in the series.

It's hard to overstate how important this development is for the whole One Piece story. As the highest authorities in the villainously-depicted World Government, The Five Elders have a good chance of being the final villains of the series (along with Imu). Having one of them leave the safety of Pangaea Castle and personally move against the Straw Hats really confirms that One Piece's final saga is in full swing. The name of Saint Jay could also be an important clue to solving some of the series' mysteries. "Gorosei" can be translated from Japanese as "Five Elder Stars". If one is called Saturn, the others could also be named as the planets in the Solar System, just like the three Ancient Weapons: Pluton, Uranus, and Neptune.

Saturn's Arrival On The Battlefield Spells Trouble For The Straw Hats

Saturn's presence in Egghead spells trouble for the Straw Hats. The Gorosei are the ultimate authority for the Seraphim, who are forced to obey their orders, overriding even those of their creator Vegapunk. If Saturn of the Five Elders appears and orders the Seraphim to attack the Straw Hats, Luffy and his friends will be forced to fight against the strongest creatures in the world of One Piece, besides a mighty Marine Admiral, and it's hard to see how they will get out of such a predicament.
