The mention of the past of the world immediately made fans connect the dots, and raised the expectation that chapter #1062 will, for the first time in the 25-year-old series, openly address the mystery of the Void Century.
One Piece Will Finally Unveil The Mystery Of The Void Century
It appears that the current One Piece arc will indeed be mostly devoted to explaining the lore of the series, shining a light on the many dark spots that have riled up fans' imagination until now. This was predictable, considering that the manga has entered its final part (even if it's still unclear how long this will be) and that Luffy and the other Straw Hats have finally met one of the key characters in the series: Dr. Vegapunk. The greatest scientist in the world holds the keys to many mysteries in the manga, including the secret of Devil Fruits, and Oda himself declared, many years ago, that these would be revealed once Vegapunk appeared.
While many fans agree that the editor's note for chapter #1062 is teasing a Void Century reveal, others instead believe that the reference is to the recent Levely, the meeting of the rulers of the world, considering that Jewelry Bonney, who infiltrated the event, recently met the Straw Hats. Whatever the revelation that shocks the Straw Hats will be, it will also be one more step towards the resolution of One Piece's incredibly deep and mystery-ridden plot.
