Quentin Tarantino has revealed that he has written an entire biography about the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood leading man Rick Dalton. Tarantino is known for being one of the best writers/directors to ever grace the Hollywood red carpet with a career packed full of unique and beautifully shot films. The famed director debuted his first novel attempt in June 2021 with the release of a novelization of the director’s ninth film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, after Tarantino signed a two-book deal with famed publisher HarperCollins, but the director’s novelist career doesn’t seem to be stopping there.

During an interview with Empire Film Podcast, Tarantino revealed that he’s already written an entire biography on fictional character Rick Dalton titled Rick Dalton: The Man Who Would Be McQueen. The famed writer went on to explain the premise of the fictional novel, in which Tarantino himself meets an aging Dalton at a Hawaiian film festival in 1998. Following the two’s introduction, Tarantino and Dalton sit down to write the fictional character’s biography. Besides the biography itself, Tarantino also revealed that Rick Dalton: The Man Who Would Be McQueen would include an in-depth Q&A exchange between Tarantino and his created character Dalton.

Even though Tarantino notes that he’s written the biography in its entirety, the famed director wants to finish Cinema Speculation before Rick Dalton: The Man Who Would Be McQueen sees the light of day. Cinema Speculation is the title of Tarantino’s second HarperCollins book, which is a nonfiction work that dives deep into movies from the 1970s with essays, reviews and other personal writing’s from Tarantino himself. While there is no release date yet for the fictional biography Rick Dalton: The Man Who Would Be McQueen, Tarantino did confirm that HarperCollins is on board with the fictitious exchange between two of Hollywood’s greatest based on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
