Lupin Part 2 has now returned to Netflix bringing star Omar Sy back as the gentleman thief who would quickly become Paris' most wanted man. The show has been a phenomenal success, with Part 1 breaking records for Netflix and announcing Sy as one of the platform's breakout stars of 2021, despite his many years in the industry already.

The cliffhanger ending of Lupin Part 1 dialed up the action and the immediate threat to Omar Sy's Assane Diop as he was forced to keep his loved ones safe while fighting police corruption, systemic racism, and his nemesis Hubert Pellegrini. The change in pace was something of a departure, but Sy's performance as the master of disguise was the key to keeping the complexities of its plot accessible to the steadily growing audience.

With Lupin Part 2 now released on Netflix and Sy's charismatic performance at its heart, it's likely that there will be increased interest in what the X-Men: Days Of Future Past star will be doing next. Lupin Part 3 has already been confirmed - by the actor himself, in fact - and alongside that, Omar Sy has three announced projects listed as in development. The first, coming in 2022 is Jurassic World: Dominion, before French-language comedy sequel Tower Of Strength follows the same year and then he also has a starring role in Joann Sfar's Le chat du rabbin on top of those.

The latter of the three, from celebrated comics artist turned animated director Sfar is the most enigmatic of the releases and appears to be a sequel to the award-winning 2011 original, which was based on just the first five parts of Sfar's comics of the same name. Little else is known of the animated release, but Omar Sy will lend his voice. Meanwhile, Tower of Strength will see Sy reunite with Netflix and Bright 2 director Louis Leterrier (who directed three episodes of Lupin), as well as co-star Laurent Lafitte for a sequel to On the Other Side of the Tracks. The original was a buddy cop action comedy in the vein of Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon, clashing two very different police officers together and the sequel will see the pair investigating a crime in the French Alps.

Most notably for Hollywood-tuned audiences is Jurassic World: Dominion, Colin Trevorrow's third chapter in the second Jurassic Park universe trilogy. The 2022 release sees Sy return as Barry Sembène, Owen Grady's friend and fellow raptor trainer who sat out Fallen Kingdom but is just one of Jurassic World: Dominion's many returning characters. 2022 is also likely to see him put on the many outfits of Assane Diop for the return of Lupin to Netflix.
