Official Watchmen Movie Website Updated

It looks like the official Watchmen movie website has been updated.

It looks like there will be lots of cool stuff coming, including bios for all the main characters. So far the only bio available is for "The Comedian" (pictured above).

In addition to a short bio, there are wallpapers and buddy icons. The graphics are pretty damned cool on the new Comedian wallpaper and I can't wait to see what they'll have for the other characters. It looks like I might finally have something to replace my Iron Man desktop background with. :-)

There's a photo gallery with images that I believe we've already shown before, a production diary, access to existing wallpapers (there will be new ones for each character), and they have the original trailer and the latest one from the Spike Scream Awards.

Every time you check out a different section of the site and go back to the main page a different character is highlighted. You can see each of them below:

Nite Owl from the Watchmen movie

Silk Spectre

Dr. Manhattan

There's a countdown timer on the site (as you can see in the screen grabs above) and they're still showing March 6, 2009 as the release date despite all the legal wrangling going on surrounding the film.

I don't know what it's going to take to put this movie on people's radar screens (according to a recent Movieweb poll it's not even in the top 10 most anticipated films of next year), but I hope Warner Bros. pulls something out of its bag of tricks to market the heck out of this Watchmen movie to the general public because it looks like it will be THE movie to see next year.

Thanks to regular Screen Rant reader "Lance" for shooting us a note asking if we'd noticed the update... thanks, bro!
