In case you haven't gotten your daily dose of Transformers: Dark of the Moon news, we've got another update. The official title logo has been released.
If you had any confusion over the title, this will clear it up. In the meantime, nothing has changed from the last two movies in terms of the overall look of the title.
Paramount and DreamWorks have stuck to a master plan with these films. Frankly, the font they use has become synonymous with the franchise. It brings back memories of the first teaser for Transformers. The way those letters transformed and then morphed into the release date was extremely cool.
Although we won't see any letters moving until the anticipated first teaser, you can check out the official production logo below.
The only real confusion left over Transformers: Dark of the Moon was the title. Some thought it was The Dark of the Moon. Others thought it was Dark Side of the Moon - a la Pink Floyd's awesome album. The confusion will never really end because the latter is a part of the national culture. I'll always accidentally say "side."
We actually spotted a temporary logo nearby the Chicago set. It was a sleek logo, but not as integral to the actual plot of the one above. It looks fantastic with the moon placed inside the title graphic.
It is interesting to note the difference between both logos. The temporary one was colorful and presented a more positive vibe. The official logo suggests an extremely dark movie, which may actually serve the franchise better.
A potential poster for Dark of the Moon floated around the Internet recently as well. Michael Bay says it's a fake, but with the official logo it sure seems real (but who are we to question, eh?) . Ultimately, the logos and official images will continue a trend of a specific look consistent with the franchise.
What do you think of the new logo? Do you prefer it over the temporary one seen near the Chicago set?
