Ambient sounds inspired by The Office will be streaming 24/7 on a new Peacock channel. NBC's streaming service launched in April of this year. It was one of the streaming services to enter the market this year, including HBO Max, and it's set to have a robust lineup of original content. Still, the service is working out many kinks as it adapts to the continually changing streaming landscape. One of its most prominent properties is set to hit Peacock at the beginning of next year when The Office leaves Netflix for its home network.

The Office has soared in popularity since its conclusion in 2013, partially thanks to its availability on Netflix. The show is more popular than ever, and its availability on Peacock will be a massive draw for fans of the sitcom. With nine seasons and over 200 episodes, the long-running sitcom being on the streamer is a huge win for NBC. The mockumentary-style sitcom will join Saturday Night Live, the Saved by the Bell reboot, and other iconic sitcoms like 30 Rock and Cheers.

According to Peacock, the platform is launching a new channel in January that will stream The Office-like ambient sounds on a dedicated channel titled The Office Zen that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The channel is described as "a 24/7 channel of ambient noise devoted to the sights and sounds of the office for anyone working at home."

The Office's move to Peacock will be the ultimate test for the streamer. Not only does it have the potential to bring in hordes of subscribers who love the show, but it also allows the streamer to show off some of their other content. Peacock is putting a lot of stock in their regaining of the show - not only will they have the 24/7 channel, but there will be themed libraries centered around specific episodes, as well as deleted scenes and extended episodes. But the question remains: will that be enough to draw in more subscribers?

Peacock had a rough start, with a confusing amount of subscription tiers at launch and lackluster original shows. With many looking at streaming as the future, Peacock needs to ensure that they have a streamlined service and the content to bring in viewers. The Office will surely help with that, but will it be enough? If Netflix's numbers are any indication, it could be. The Office was one of Netflix's most popular shows, with viewers watching the series repeatedly. That kind of fandom could be precisely the push Peacock needs, and it would allow subscribers who are primarily there for the sitcom to explore the other content, giving the platform a much-needed boost.
