The Office actor Rainn Wilson has announced what he would like to be called if he were to become a superhero. Wilson has worked on a large number of projects over his career, even lending his voice as Gargamel in Smurfs: The Lost Village, but his role as Dwight Schrute on The Office is generally recognized as his most notable character. Although it has been almost nine years since the show aired its final episode, the sitcom remains embedded in today’s pop culture scene.

Several of The Office’s cast members have continued to find success in acting outside of the sitcom, especially John Krasinski. Krasinski’s significant roles continue to multiply, and it appears that he will soon be delving into the superhero genre as Superman in the upcoming animated film, DC League of Super-Pets. Unsurprisingly, superhero movies have dominated the box office in recent years, with many of Hollywood’s most prominent actors having starred in the DCEU or Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Possibly inspired by Krasinski’s new role, Wilson has apparently contemplated the name he would use if he were, in fact, a superhero. Wilson revealed this superhero name with a random tweet earlier this week, one that sounds like it belongs next to Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad. After some self-reflection, The Office actor stated he would be known as “The Pontificator.” Take a look below to see his unveiling post:

For those unfamiliar with the term, pontificating means to openly express opinions in a way that irritates others. Wilson’s fanbase should be more than aware of the fact that he is a very vocal activist on social media and has no issue stating his opinions to the masses. His podcast, Metaphysical Milkshake, and the books he has authored do not shy away from controversial topics. In recent years, Wilson has aired his opinions on social media regarding a wide array of subjects ranging from climate change to vaccinations.

Wilson’s choice seems to be extremely relevant to his lifestyle. Of course, he shares this characteristic with his onscreen persona from The Office. A majority of Dwight’s screen time revolves around his off-the-wall opinions that are freely professed to his annoyed coworkers. Even though Wilson has already played the Crimson Bolt, a self-made superhero in the movie Super, Rainn Wilson’s choice could not be more fitting. In a world where cancel culture reigns, hope remains thanks to The Pontificator.
