From 2005 to 2013, we were given greatness in the form of The Office. For nine seasons, we're introduced to Michael Scott's crazy way of managing Dunder Mifflin Scranton's employees. And while we loved Dwight's (for lack of a better word) passion for paper and Stanely's word puzzles, there were two characters we couldn't get enough of: Jim and Pam.

The relationship between these two started off casual with the two becoming fast friends over their similar sense of humor. Over time, we see their mutual love for one another grow. The only problem is Pam is engaged to Roy, a warehouse worker for Dunder Mifflin. For three painstaking seasons, we watch Jim being tortured by his love for Pam while she idly remains in her relationship in fear of change.

Eventually, the two go on their first date by the end of season three and are finally dating by season four. It's been a long road for these two lovebirds but it feels even longer for us viewers. With over 200 episodes to watch, there were plenty of infuriating moments between this couple, and here are 10 of those moments.

THE BOOZE CRUISE

An image of Jim and Pam laughing together in The Office

In the 11th episode of the second season, Michael takes the office on a booze cruise. Pam and Roy, of course, go together and Jim brings his new girlfriend Katie. After one too many drinks, Pam tells Jim that she doesn't always understand her fiance and looks confused. Jim's silence was deafening for viewers because that was his perfect chance to express his feelings! And yet, he stayed silent.

It eventually looked like Jim was gearing up to tell Pam how he felt (he even broke up with Katie right then and there) but that's when Roy barged in and told Pam he was ready to set a date for their wedding! Jim's moment seemed to be ruined forever.

THE SECRET SANTA

In the first office Christmas party of the show, Michael tells the office there will be a Secret Santa drawing and that there's a $20 limit. As always, Michael goes above and beyond with his gift, expecting everyone else to do the same (which didn't happen). Jim happily got Pam for secret Santa and got her teapot for her desk because he knew how much she wanted one. Inside the teapot was an array of memories together and a handwritten note.

Unfortunately, to everyone watching, Michael decides to throw his secret Santa idea in the bag and do a White Elephant game instead. This led to Pam trading her precious teapot of memories with someone else! Later on, after realizing the teapot was from Jim, Pam got the teapot back and was happy with her gift.

WHEN PAM CLAIMS JIM 'MISINTERPRETED' THEIR FRIENDSHIP

Jim and Pam kissing in The Office

There was nothing more frustrating or heartbreaking than when Jim FINALLY tells Pam he's in love with her and she gets upset with him for "misinterpreting" her friendship! It was demeaning and disappointing that Pam couldn't have been honest with him.

As we know, Jim did go back to find Pam—who was hiding in the office—and they shared their first kiss. It was then that Pam decides she's going to marry Roy and Jim decides to leave Scranton. Cue the tears!

THE PAM + KAREN + JIM LOVE TRIANGLE

In a whirlwind of events, Jim transfers to Dunder Mifflin's branch in Stamford, Connecticut to get away from Pam. It's then that Jim meets his co-worker Karen and the two of them begin dating. When Stamford goes under, both Jim and Karen are transferred to Scranton where Jim has to deal with his feelings for two women.

Pam is now single but she has to deal with Jim and Karen's blossoming relationship in front of her. She even helps Jim when he and Karen are fighting, which results in Pam crying in the hallway as she's pushing the love of her life into the arms of another woman.

THE PHONE CALL THAT ENDED TOO SOON

Once Jim is at Stamford, it appears to viewers that he and Pam no longer have any kind of relationship. However, one night after work, Jim calls Dunder Mifflin's front desk and gets Pam on the other end. The two begin catching up when Pam gets interrupted and Jim takes this as a hint that the conversation is over. The two hang up before they're even close to ending their conversation and fans are left ripping their hair out.

THE DIWALI TEXT MESSAGE

Pam and Michael at Diwali

In the third season, the entire office is invited to Kelly's family's Diwali party. Pam decides to go as a single gal to try and have fun. Meanwhile, back at Stamford, Jim is playing a drinking game with his co-workers when he passes out on his desk.

However, after Pam has some single-life realizations, she seems to text Jim late at night. But does Jim answer her text?! NO. He's passed out! To make matters worse, we don't even know what it said!

WHEN PAM & ROY GET BACK TOGETHER (AFTER TELLING JIM HOW SHE FELT)

How infuriating was it when Pam got back together with Roy after Phyliss's wedding?! Jim and Pam were busy making longing glances at one another and then all of a sudden Roy has to step in. These two were never meant to be though because, eventually, Pam tells Roy that she and Jim kissed and their relationship officially burns from there.

In a classic Roy move, he tries to beat Jim up and when Pam apologizes to Jim for it, Jim basically writes her off. He even makes a statement about them probably getting back together, which was low.

WHEN JIM KEPT TEASING ABOUT THE IDEA OF THEM GETTING ENGAGED

These two smitten kittens finally find their way to one another in the fourth season and it's clear they're both in it for the long haul. Jim eventually tells Pam that the two of them should move in together but Pam is reluctant if she's not engaged. What transpires is Jim pretending to propose to Pam in random places, which gave fans a heart attack every time.

WHY DID JIM KEEP LYING ABOUT ATHLEAD?

Jim talking to Pam at the Athlead Offices

We all knew Jim and Pam couldn't stay at Dunder Mifflin Scranton forever. They were both so young and bright and deserved more. Jim was later approached by an old college buddy about beginning a business venture together but after talking it over with Pam, they decided the timing wasn't right.

Unhappy with the decision, Jim went behind Pam's back and started working for them anyway. Jim's time with Athlead (now Athleap) were some of the darkest days for our favorite couple. It brought on lies, couple's therapy, and a whole bunch of tears.

THE PAM & CAMERA-MAN BRIAN RELATIONSHIP

pam and brian – the office

With Jim working for Athlead half the week in Philly, he was missing some valuable time with his wife and two children. The two began bickering and Pam felt like her world was crumbling. In a weird string of events, we're introduced to a cameraman named Brian who helped console Pam after a nasty fight with Jim. It was clear Pam was getting closer with Brian and he was doing things for her that Jim should have been doing. Just the mere thought of Jim and Pam not working out was enough to make viewers riot. Thankfully, we all know these two have a happy ending.
