Few shows have as many colorful characters as The Office. The employees of Dunder Mifflin are such an entertaining group of people, even if some are easier to like than others. But each of these wacky individuals brings their own collection of characters as well, including some memorable relatives.

There are some family members who have appeared on the show and made good impressions, but not all of them. In some cases, these relatives help to explain why certain characters are the way they are, while others are just miserable and uncomfortable people that leave viewers grateful they are not a part of their family.

Barbara Keevis

Michael asks his grandmother for investment

When Michael Scott quits Dunder Mifflin and forms his own paper company, he and his sales team head out to find some investors. The first stop is with a woman named Barbara Keevis, who is lined up as a potentially interested party. However, Michael knows her better as Nana.

It is immediately pathetic that Michael is going to his grandmother to give him money for his business, but it only gets worse from there. Despite their connection, Nana isn't very impressed with Michael's proposal and turns him down even if the other members of her investment club are willing to help out.

Mose

Dwight creates office daycare

It says a lot about Mose that he is the weirdest member of the Schrute family. He is the cousin of Dwight and they live together on the beet farm, although it feels more like Dwight is the adult and Mose is the strange child Dwight has to care for.

Mose is a mostly silent young man who doesn't appear to ever leave the farm. He goes along with Dwight's strange ideas, like wrestling Ryan as part of his sales training. When Jim and Pam spend a night at the farm, Mose has a manure fight with Dwight and stares creepily at Pam.

Susan California

Robert's wife asks Andy for a job

Given the fact that she is married to a man like Robert California, Susan is actually a pretty reasonable person. However, as the wife of the boss, it's a little strange that she seems to think she is entitled to a position at Dunder Mifflin.

She tells Robert she would like to work at the office, which he very much does not want to happen, despite pretending that he does. But she just comes in without any real idea what she would do and seems to find it rude that they cannot accommodate her.

Peter And Tom Halpert

Tim and Peter Halpert having dinner with Jim and Pam

After Jim and Pam get engaged, Jim's brothers, Peter and Tom, are introduced for the first time. Wanting to bond with her future brothers-in-law, Pam suggests they team up to pull a prank on Jim. The Halpert brothers seem to all share a love of pranks as they are immediately keen on the idea. However, their idea of pranking is more mean-spirited.

Instead of the prank that Pam thought up, the brothers decide it would be funnier if they just made fun of Pam's art career in front of Jim. Pam, understandably, isn't as enthusiastic about this prank.

Kenny Anderson

Roy comes to Pam's art show with his brother The Office

As it turns out, Pam has a history of dating guys with awful brothers. Kenny is the brother of Roy and is usually just seen hovering around, following Roy and Pam on dates to her art show and after-work drinks.

There is not much to Kenny's personality as he seems like a pretty dull guy. But when Roy finds out that Pam once kissed Jim and freaks out, Kenny joins his brother in the tantrum, smashing beer bottles like an immature child.

Jake Palmer

Meredith's son Jake in The Office finale

During the "Take Your Daughter to Work" day at Dunder Mifflin, the show gives a glimpse at what some of the characters are like as parents. Not surprisingly, Meredith doesn't seem to be the best mother, which results in her son Jake being an annoying brat.

He acts out in the office place, insulting and bothering the employees in immature ways. More disturbingly, in the finale episode, during Angela's bachelor party, it is discovered that the stripprd they hired is actually Jake, who is now grown and sporting a face tattoo.

Walter Bernard Sr.

Michael Collins as Walter Bernard

Andy Bernard can be a pretty annoying guy who is desperate for attention. But when his father is introduced into the series, it suddenly becomes clear where all that comes from. His dad is a grossly pretentious man who openly prefers his other son over Andy.

While it would be hard enough for Andy to see his father favor his brother, Walter is almost contemptuous whenever he speaks to Andy, even mocking and belittling him for trying to share a father-son moment.

Luke

Luke talking to the camera in Nepotism

Luke is introduced as the newest intern in the office and someone who is even worse at the job than Ryan was. He shows no interest in doing any of the work and is unabashedly rude to everyone in the office. But when everyone wonders why he isn't just fired, it is revealed that he is Michael's nephew.

The blatant show of nepotism doesn't help to make Luke seem any better as he is taking an opportunity his uncle gave him and showing no respect whatsoever. Michael has never been so likable as when he spanks Luke in front of the whole office.

Reed

Erin on the couch with her foster brother

Erin Hannon is one of the nicest and bubbliest people in the office, despite the fact that she has a bit of a sad background. Erin grew up as an orphan, unaware of who her real parents were. However, she does have one family member in the form of Reed, her foster brother who lived in the same house as her for several years.

Erin and Reed now live together and, unbeknownst to Erin, he definitely sees her as more than a sister. Reed is extremely creepy towards her right in front of Andy and doesn't seem to care in the slightest that she sees Reed as the only family member she has.

Robert Lipton

Robert smiling and Angela frowning at a press conference on The Office

After a disastrous relationship with Dwight and Andy at the same time, Angela seems to find a much more stable man with Robert Lipton. He is a state senator who eventually marries Angela, but all the while he is having an affair with Oscar.

If that didn't make Robert untrustworthy enough, it turns out that he is actually cheating on Oscar as well. When the truth comes out, he uses his sexuality as a platform to further his career and publicly embarrass Angela.
