While Amazon's Jack Ryan series starring John Krasinski debuts on Prime Video today, you can also take a look at a hilarious parody mashup that combines this upcoming series, based on the character created by Tom Clancy, and NBC's iconic sitcom The Office. Krasinski has certainly branched out in recent years, starring in (and directing) the hit horror-thriller A Quiet Place and becoming the fifth actor to play Jack Ryan, following Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. Still, there are legions of fans who remember Krasinski fondly from The Office, and will always see him as Jim Halpert.

Like many stars of The Office, the NBC sitcom helped launch Krasinski's career, and he quickly became a fan favorite. Aside from his romance with Pam (Jenna Fischer), Jim's rivalry with Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) was among the most popular running threads throughout the nine-season run of The Office on NBC. This rivalry wasn't necessarily a dangerous one, with life-or-death consequences (although there were literally shots fired at times) like Krasinski's new character Jack Ryan will face. Regardless, the animosity between these characters was still quite real, and often provided some of the show's funniest moments.

This mash-up trailer comes to us courtesy of Funny or Die, which is essentially the normal Jack Ryan trailer, with some perfectly placed shots from The Office spliced in throughout. The trailer opens with a dinner scene between Krasinski's title character and his future wife Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish), who asks Ryan about his job. When Ryan says he, "sits behind a desk and writes reports," the parody trailer naturally cuts to brief clips from The Office with Krasinski's Jim Halpert doing just that. When Ryan begins discussing a new "high-level threat," the trailer naturally cuts to scenes with the nefarious Dwight Schrute.

Perhaps one of the best uses of symmetry between the shows takes place towards the middle of the trailer. When Ryan says, "whatever he's planning, he's ready now," this plays over a scene from The Office where Dwight hides within a snowman to pelt Jim with snowballs before he heads into the Dunder-Mifflin office. While there isn't much of the Jim and Pam relationship in this parody trailer, there is a scene where Pam wonders why Dwight is casually walking around with a gun holstered to his belt, leading to Dwight accidentally shooting Jim. Despite Dwight being a constant nuisance at the Dunder-Mifflin office, he's certainly not as dangerous as the threats Krasinski's Jack Ryan will face in the new Amazon series.

Despite being off the air for just over five years now, The Office's popularity still endures. There was talk of an Office reboot earlier this year, with Krasinski himself revealing in a February interview that, if it should happen, he'd love to be a part of it. If this Jack Ryan series is a hit and gets renewed for a second season, it might make it more difficult for Krasinski to come back for this rumored reboot. Then again, he wouldn't be the first actor to juggle two shows at once. Still, nothing has been confirmed regarding an Office reboot. There would likely be legions of fans who would love to see Krasinski's Jim Halpert borrow some of Jack Ryan's spy skills to take down Schrute once and for all.
