All 193 episodes of The Office have been ranked from least funny to funniest. The series follows the Scranton branch of paper company Dunder Mifflin that is mismanaged by the woefully ignorant Michael Scott. The unusual cast of characters mixed with the hilarity of everyday mishaps has made the series a sitcom legend. The hit sitcom aired on NBC for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013. Even though the series ended seven years ago, The Office has become immortalized on Netflix. It is often the highest-rated non-Netflix original series from month to month and is arguably more popular now than when it was on the air.

Despite the show's success on Netflix, NBCUniversal announced The Office would be taken down from Netflix at the end of 2020. It will be moved onto NBCUniversal's new streaming platform, Peacock. All of the episodes will be available to stream as well as bonus content. Creator Greg Daniels hinted that there might even a reunion episode in the show's future on Peacock.

Dedicated The Office fan Jeremy Sharp created a blog post titled "Every Episode of The Office, Ranked by How Funny it is." Season 5 Episode 14, "Stress Relief Part 1," secured the number one spot, which comes as no surprise. The episode is jam-packed with laughs and contains two of the show's most iconic moments: Dwight's fire drill and the CPR dummy scene. The second funniest episode on the list is Season 5 Episode 24, "Heavy Competition," in which Dwight struggles between his loyalty to Dunder Mifflin and Michael Scott, who is now with Michael Scott Paper Company. Other popular episodes that made the top 20 include The Injury" involving Michael's Scott foot and a George Foreman grill, "Scott's Tots," "Product Recall," which kicks off with Jim impersonating Dwight and Jim and Pam's wedding, "Niagara Part 1."

There is no denying that ranking all 193 episodes of The Office is no easy feat. Sharp explained his process involved rewatching all of the episodes, taking notes of the funniest moments, and giving each episode a "laugh score." He then consulted a mathematician who created a formula combining Sharp's "laugh score" with each episode's IMDB rating. Sharp prefaced the list reiterating that he was not naming which episodes are the best, but rather the funniest. Therefore iconic, emotional episodes like "Casino Night," "The Job," and "The Dundies" were toward the bottom half of the list.

He also warned fans that the episodes were ranked by overall funniness as opposed to how funny a particular episode is, which explains why famed episodes like "Drug Testing," "Fun Run," and "The Convict" ranked in the lower half of the list. As Sharp suggested, some of his rankings were quite surprising.

Some episodes that were overall hilarious and have become immortalized by fans like "The Fire," "Andy's Play," and "Stress Relief Part 2," especially since its counterpart secured the number one spot. Other episodes that made the top 20 seem random. The episodes could likely fit Sharp's theory of not having one outrageously funny moment but being consistently funny with rewatching. Overall, however, the list makes sense. Even though The Office does have a trademark sense of humor, each viewer will have their take on which episodes tickle their funny bone, and this list caters to that range. The only real way to test the accuracy of the list is to rewatch The Office on Netflix.
