The Office star Rainn Wilson shares nostalgic behind-the-scenes images and a video to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of filming wrapping on the series finale. First airing on NBC in 2005, The Office would go on to become one of the most popular sitcoms of a generation, following a group of paper company employees and their eccentric boss, Michael Scott (Steve Carell), as they navigate day-to-day life. After 9 successful seasons, the hit show came to an end in 2013.

Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute on The Office, took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate 10 years since he and his costars wrapped filming on the show's final episode.

Wilson's carousel of images features just about every major star on the show, with several pictures showing a behind-the-scenes look at The Office's season 9 work bus episode. The post also includes a short video showing John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Brian Baumgartner, Oscar Nunez, and Ellie Kemper posing for a picture on the second-to-last night of filming.

Why The Office Remains So Beloved 10 Years Later

Although the show is widely considered to have dipped in quality following the departure of Carell's Michael in season 7, The Office remains beloved to this day. The show features strong writing and, crucially, assembled a standout cast. Carell is perfect as Michael, the wacky boss, and Krasinski's Jim and Fischer's Pam give the show a strong emotional core, with their captivating and evolving love story playing out over all 9 seasons. Wilson's Dwight, of course, is also quite the character, with his bizarre antics providing a number of the show's biggest laughs.

Like the British show of the same name upon which it is based, The Office also managed to tap into a reality that people around the world are familiar with. Although the nature of work has changed drastically since the show first premiered in 2005, The Office is still immensely relatable. The premise of working under an intolerable boss or opposite frustrating coworkers is something that countless workers around the world can relate to, something that evidently contributed to The Office's impressive viewership numbers.

Another big reason why The Office remains so beloved is because of its availability on streaming. The show streamed on Netflix for a long time and now lives on Peacock, meaning, like other shows like Friends and Seinfeld, viewers can revisit The Office whenever they want. It remains to be seen if the show will ever get a revival or a reboot, but Wilson's latest post serves as a touching reminder of just how special the sitcom was and still is.
