Peacock unveils a new, never before seen cold open from The Office that pokes fun at Michael Scott's love of toilet humor. Even now, nearly ten years after it went off the air, The Office remains one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. The NBC series ran for 9 seasons and explored the lives of the employees of Dunder Mifflin, a regional paper company struggling to keep up with a changing world. In addition to elevating the careers of those like Steve Carell and John Krasinski, The Office received plenty of critical acclaim during its time on air, even winning the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

One of the things that has kept The Office alive for audiences is streaming. For several years, it was available on Netflix and frequently ranked among the service's top shows. Then, as 2020 became 2021, The Office moved over to NBCUniversal's burgeoning service Peacock. The shift caused a stir on social media, but Peacock has allowed for The Office to release plenty of new material, from extended episodes to never before seen clips.

In the latter camp is "Toilet Humor," an unused cold open from The Office season 4. Shared online as a Peacock extra, the clip finds Michael in a huff after several of his belongings fall into the toilet. After not receiving any support from those in the office (in fact, some like Phyllis and Pam even laugh), Michael devises an object to fix his toilet-related problems. You can watch the clip down below.

This Office cold open has all the hallmarks of a classic scene from the show: Michael getting worked up over something incredibly silly, Dwight going along with it, and the entire office being decidedly against Michael's shenanigans. While it is nowhere near the hilarity of, say, season 5's bonkers fire drill, the new Office cold open is an amusing clip that offers a fresh peek at beloved characters fans haven't seen in a while.

With The Office remaining such a major part of pop culture, some fans might be wondering if a reboot or revival could be just around the corner. Over the past year, those like cast member Mindy Kaling and NBCUniversal content chief Susan Rovner have indicated they would be interested in bringing The Office back, but only if the right people are in charge. Considering how old content from the series is still drumming up interest, it might be worthwhile to consider revisiting the world of Dunder Mifflin. Only time will tell if there's more in store for this cast of characters.
