It would be impossible to talk about some of the best sitcoms of all time without mentioning the masterpiece that is The Office. There's close to nothing that this show gets wrong — the writing is stellar, the humor is hilariously off-beat, and the storylines are so ridiculously charming that one can't help but root for the characters in the show with all their heart.

Speaking of which, one simply can't talk about some of the best qualities of The Office without commending its amazing cast of characters for being a treat to watch in every sense of the word. One such character whose sporadic appearances still end up being a highlight in their own right is none other than Creed Bratton, who chimes in with some of the more entertaining quips and remarks in the show.

That being said, there are things about Creed Bratton that make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

His Bizarre Behavior Should've Barred Him From Working In An Office In The First Place

Creed looking livid in The Office

The fact that Creed tends to forget people's names even though they've worked with him for years is usually played off for comedic effect, but points towards a rather serious condition that should've ideally prevented him from working at the Scranton branch in the first place.

It seems like he has some sort of memory deficiency or potentially significant health problem, even though some of his more savvy behavior seems to contradict that.

It's Hard To Believe That He's Managed To Avoid The Law For So Long

Creed in The Office finale

The series finale makes it quite apparent that Creed is actually a wanted criminal who has been on the run from the law for the longest time, and has evaded jail time quite successfully indeed.

However, the fact that his mental state is so altered should've definitely prevented him from accomplishing such a hard task in the first place. Instead, it's only after the airing of the documentary that the search for him intensifies.

The Fact That He Allowed Himself To Be Recorded Even After His Criminal Past Is Incredibly Stupid

Creed in The Office finale

The last thing any criminal would want is for his face to be broadcasted on nationwide screens... and yet, Creed never tries to hide or contest the idea of a documentary crew filming the place where he works at all.

It was only a given that he would come on the radar of the people who've been searching for him for the longest time after the documentary aired, but he still decides to play it cool regardless.

He Decided To Reside In The Office Itself Even After Being A Wanted Criminal

Creed caught living in The Office in the series finale

Even after the documentary aired and Creed was revealed as a criminal who'd been avoiding the law for the longest time, he still decides that hiding out in Dunder Mifflin is still the best course of action to take.

This boneheaded move eventually led to his arrest, which is an outcome that any logical or rational person would've predicted with ease.

His Financial Advice For Michael Is The Harebrained Stuff Of Legends

Michael Scott in The Office

The episode where Michael declares bankruptcy in the most over-the-top manner possible is certainly one of the highlights of The Office. That being said, he deserves to be called out for taking the advice of a shifty person like Creed.

Surely he should've realized that following the advice of a person who's rumored to be in pretty deep waters himself wouldn't have been the best course of action for him to take?

The Source Of The Blood He Was Covered In Is A Mystery

Creed Baton on Halloween with blood on his shirt on The Office

During a special Halloween episode, everyone thought that Creed decided to slather his clothes in blood to celebrate the holiday spirit... except for the fact that he didn't even know that it was Halloween to begin with.

This begs the question — what, or who did this blood come from? This has never been answered in the show, adding even more mystery to Creed's character as a result.

His Knowledge Of Indian Culture Comes Out Of Nowhere

Creed hiding behind a fridge in The Office

Out of all the people in The Office who could've had an in-depth knowledge of Indian culture — aside from Kelly — it was weird that the showrunners thought Creed could be a good vessel of this information.

It's hard not to wonder how he has such broad knowledge of this culture when — as mentioned before — he's barely coherent in the first place and has a tough time remembering basic things.

The Fact That Someone Like Him Is Good At Chess Is Hard To Believe

Creed playing chess in The Office

Another aspect that Creed surprisingly excels in is chess — in fact, he's probably the best chess player out of all the other people in The Office... although that might not necessarily be the best comparison to make.

Again, given the fact that he's totally out of it and not exactly the smartest person around, it's quite weird that it's Creed of all people who is a talented chess player.

His Knowledge Of Marijuana Strains Is Extremely Broad... Perhaps A Bit Too Much Maybe

The Office

There's a moment in The Office when Creed manages to identify a marijuana strain with the greatest of ease by just looking at a photograph.

Meanwhile, he forgets who Meredith is in Season 3, even though he sits close to her and has worked with him for years.

His Creepy Behavior Feels Awfully Forced

Creed poses next to his Porsche in The Office

Given the kind of creepy things that have happened time and time again in The Office, Creed almost seems like the least lecherous one out of all the males in the show... well, him and Jim, that is.

However, all this goes to pot when Creed is shown randomly taking a picture of Hannah while she's breastfeeding, following which he puts it up as his desktop wallpaper as well. The fact that he randomly does such a creepy act without any warning and also gets away with it is a perfect summation of why this particular behavior of his feels like its written for a cheap laugh as opposed to actually elaborating upon his character.
