The Scranton office of Dunder Mifflin was (surprisingly) one of the most profitable for several years. How were the employees so productive? No one can explain it, not even Michael Scott, who had no idea how they achieved such good business results. The Office is one of the best comedies made in recent years. The series focuses on a topic that would seem insipid to some people, but with a lot of good jokes, they managed to make everyday life in an office (and the boredom of its employees) look interesting.

The characters are famous for procrastinating, pranking each other, and doing very little work, and many of them are pretty mediocre at what they do. Even so, as in every company, there are some who stand out for their lousy performance and others who manage to do a good job.

Worst: Meredith Palmer

Meredith takes a sip of her drink in The Office.

Meredith has a serious drinking problem that sometimes interferes with her work. At an office party, she showed her breasts to Michael (while she was drunk) and at another meeting, she burned her hair while dancing. Once she even drank the hand sanitizer that Angela had on her desk!

This character also admitted to having a sexual relationship with a supplier to get discounts for the company and to get food coupons for herself, which she later shared with her office colleagues.

Best: Kelly Kapoor

Ryan and Kelly from The Office holding hands.

Kelly can talk non-stop for hours - a good quality for someone in customer service. Despite using her office time to read entertainment magazines, Kelly generally stays in her work area.

By working in the annex, she is mostly away from the problems and distractions of the office and this helps her to do her job. Her biggest distraction was always Ryan, with whom she spent hours either kissing or fighting, but she never had a complaint about her work. She was only warned when she lied about Dwight and Jim's performance, which she did out of revenge for them not attending her party during the summer.

Worst: Andy Bernard

Andy on the phone in The Office

Andy usually participates in all the office activities that keep him away from work. Dwight says Andy is the worst salesman in Dunder Mifflin Scranton, and in his words, he is even worse than Phyllis.

Despite his poor performance on the job, Andy is promoted to Regional Manager in the eighth season when Michael leaves the company, but he is later fired. Although he returns to his job, his lack of professionalism causes him to leave his role again.

Best: Pam Beesly

Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly in The Office

Pam always seems to be bored in her job as a receptionist. The amount of responsibility she has is small, so she has time to talk to other employees. Despite this, she does her daily tasks and does not make excuses to avoid what she has to do.

Among her duties, she lies for Michael every time he doesn't want to accept a call, for which she has a list of ideas that are constantly being renewed. She also shows concern and interest in having a better job in the future, and she eventually gets promoted.

Worst: Michael Scott

The Office Michael Scott Jesus

Michael was Dunder Mifflin's top salesman for several years. Unfortunately, his salesmanship did not help him when he assumed the position of Regional Manager, despite his follies, lack of focus, unprofessionalism and disrespect for his employees.

According to a graphic made by Jim, Michael spent most of his time procrastinating or wasting the time of his employees, which suggests that he has no management skills. He also often behaves inappropriately during meetings with clients or company bosses, so everyone wonders how he was able to keep his job for so long.

Best: Toby Flenderson

toby flenderson novel

Toby is extremely funny because of his boring and sad and personality and lack of energy, but he never falls asleep at work (like Stanley) or wastes his time (like most employees). As a human resources representative, he is always looking out for the well-being of the employees.

Michael, and later Andy, hate Toby because they think he takes all the fun out of the office, but often he is the voice of reason and tries to avoid the craziest things that happen in the Scranton office.

Worst: Ryan Howard

Ryan Howard from The Office

Ryan starts out as a temp in the Scranton Dunder Mifflin office. During his initial time with the company, he attended business classes and seemed to have a good approach to the future. But, his rapid rise in the company and his move to New York caused him to fall into a spiral of misfortune, which began when he accidentally set fire to the Scranton office.

Contempt for his fellow workers in Scranton increased when he was promoted, but soon after, Ryan was arrested for committing fraud and lost all his power. It is mentioned several times that Ryan never made a sale and his early-season ambitions are replaced by lack of interest.

Best: Dwight Schrute

Dwight and his bobblehead

Dwight is the top salesman at the Scranton office of Dunder Mifflin. He admits to handling the accounts of more than 80 clients, many of them very important to the company. His desire to have power over his peers makes him work extra hard, which often ends in disaster.

This character has many interests, such as his volunteer work in security institutions and his role as the owner of Schrute Farms Bed and Breakfast. In addition, he always volunteers in the office to do the additional tasks that Michael does not want to do.

Worst: Creed Bratton

Creed executes quality assurance for Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, but he never works there. He even admits that he doesn't remember what his job title is, so he only goes to the office every day to get paid and not live on the street like he used to.

He is dishonest and spends most of his time playing on the computer. His lack of commitment has caused Dunder Mifflin to lose clients because he never does the job he is supposed to do. He only worries when his position is at risk and invents strategies to keep it, without caring if he jeopardizes someone else's.

Best: Oscar Martinez

the office Oscar

Oscar is not only one of the best employees, but also one of the sanest in The Office. He usually seems to be busy at work, so, he is not regularly seen wasting time like some of his colleagues.

This Dunder Mifflin accountant is very smart, but with the necessary humility and confidence to not need to prove himself every time (like Dwight). He only lied once to stay away from work and have a long weekend, so compared to other employees, this is just a minor fault.
