Previously a PlayStation and PC exclusive, Oddworld: Soulstorm has just released a teaser featuring the new Xbox startup sound, hinting at the game's release on Xbox Series X/S consoles. First released in April, Oddworld: Soulstorm launched as part of April's PlayStation Plus monthly lineup, offering the game for free to those with a membership and a PS5 system. The game received mixed reviews on launch due to a high volume of bugs and noticeable difficulty spikes, but it has been praised for its visuals and story.

The official Oddworld Inhabitants YouTube channel has posted a new video that, while not directly stating the fact, heavily teases the game's potentially imminent release on Xbox Series X/S. In the teaser, series protagonist Abe is seen holding and then unwrapping a small object. Suddenly, a bright green glow emanates from this object as it starts playing the unmistakable startup sound of the new Xbox consoles followed by the words, "They've always known you would come."

While the game initially didn't live up to some players and critics' expectations, being a sequel to the well-received Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty and a reimagining of Abe's Exodus, most longtime fans of the series still enjoyed the experience. It especially helped that the game was given out for no additional cost as part of the growing PlayStation Plus subscription service. Now it looks like Xbox Series X/S owners will be able to get their hands on the latest release in the series, and hopefully, this release of Oddworld: Soulstorm will have a little more polish around its once rough edges.
