The film industry has long been interested in breathing new life into old franchises. Whether that comes in the form of long awaited sequels, complete reboots, or a hybrid of both options, these films continue to be made. However, successful attempts are few and far between. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is the gold standard for revitalizing interest in a franchise, but just this year movies like Zoolander 2Jason Bourne, or Ghostbusters have proven how difficult this can be. In the coming years, more of these attempts will be made, with Ocean's 8 being among one of the more interesting properties.

It has been nine years since Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and the rest of the crew performed their last heist, and when the franchise comes back, it will do so without any of the familiar faces. Instead, director Gary Ross has assembled a talented and diverse female cast to put a new spin on the franchise. Now, those looking forward to the sequel can get a look at a good portion of the cast.

ComingSoon has posted brand new photos from the set of Ocean's 8 that highlights a majority of the new faces. Almost every cast member has been spotted on set at this point, but the newest photos focus on Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, and Sarah Paulson. Previous photos have also shown the two leads, Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock, while hinting towards the role that Anne Hathaway will be playing as well.

Ocean's 11 Women

While the looks of the actresses are not the most revealing piece of information, it does show just how different each of the women are. With Blanchett and Bullock seemingly being the brains behind the operation -- though that's still unconfirmed -- the other cast members will hopefully bring something unique to the crew not only in their looks but also skill set. From the look of these photos, Rihanna, Carter, Kaling, and Paulson fit that criteria with their styles ranging from Paulson's retro look to Carter's avant garde attire.

Now that the majority of the cast is reporting to set, the chance of confirmed character or plot details will hopefully surface soon. As of right now, only unconfirmed reports of the plot revolving around a fashion show and the possibility of Bullock being related to Danny Ocean have been revealed. If both of these prove to be true, fans of the first three films will be wondering if Clooney could cameo. However, the film should be able to stand on its own without the need to connect to the previous trilogy thanks to the talented cast and crew.

Ocean’s 8 opens in U.S. theaters on June 8, 2018.
