A new concept trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi sets up the Jedi Master's path on a collision course with Darth Vader. The beloved Star Wars character is finally getting his own Disney+ series with Ewan McGregor returning to step back into the space opera. The project was originally hatched as a movie but was eventually retooled to be a limited show, allowing Lucasfilm to tell a longer story.

For years, rumors that McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan swirled around. He was speculated to appear in the Star Wars sequel films, but that never happened, although it's not for the lack of trying. Whenever the actor got asked about the idea of returning to the galaxy far, far away, he's vehemently denied it, that's until it was officially announced D23 Expo 2019 that he's indeed back as the legendary Jedi. It wasn't until Disney's Investor Day 2020 that more pertinent information about the show was revealed with the narrative set 10 years after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Meanwhile, it's also confirmed that Hayden Christensen is playing Darth Vader for what Kathleen Kennedy described as the rematch of the century.

This was the inspiration for the YouTube channel, stryder HD's new concept trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Clocking in at 1:47, the clip mainly sets up the stage for the Jedi Master and his fallen Padawan's upcoming encounter. That said, it also features some other notable Star Wars players like Qui-Gon Jinn, Yoda, Darth Maul, and Mace Windu among others. Watch the video below:

Filming for Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently underway, and while Lucasfilm has been very secretive about the project, there have been a few additional pieces of information revealed about the series. For starters, McGregor revealed that he will have a new costume in the show — something that's been teased in new set images of the actor during a working break. Additionally, he also hyped up a scene with someone whom he has never worked with in his career. Considering that the show will introduce new Star Wars characters played by Kumail Nanjiani and Sung Kang among others, there are several candidates for this mystery actor. Regardless of who it might be, however, people's prime interest is in Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker's reunion.

The aforementioned trailer proposes some really interesting ideas for the series, including a potential reconnection between Qui-Gon and his Padawan. Unfortunately, however, Liam Neeson has already debunked rumors that he will be making a surprise appearance in the show. Similarly, there has been no word on Mace Windu and Boba Fett's involvement in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. That said, Star Wars fans can catch Temuera Morrison continuing his role as the memorable bounty hunter in Book of Boba Fett coming this December on Disney+.
