Disney unveils a new Obi-Wan Kenobi poster showing Darth Vader igniting his lightsaber on a desert planet and teasing an epic rematch. The series picks up 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith as the titular Jedi watches over the young Luke Skywalker on the desert planet of Tatooine as he is raised by his uncle and aunt, Beru and Owen Lars. However, when the rising Galactic Empire make their way to the planet, Obi-Wan must embark on a harrowing adventure in order to protect the future savior of the galaxy.

Ewan McGregor is returning to lead the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars prequels alongside Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Joel Edgerton as Owen and Bonnie Piesse as Beru. The series also marks the franchise debuts of Moses Ingram as Third Sister Reva, Indira Varma as an Imperial officer, Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor, Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother, Kumail Nanjiani, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, Maya Erskine and Rory Ross. After languishing in development hell for over five years, Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally gearing up to premiere this moth and now audiences are getting an exciting new glimpse at the series.

The new Obi-Wan Kenobi poster comes in conjunction with a new trailer for the series arriving in which audiences got a new glimpse at Darth Vader's return, being reconstructed with various machinery after Anakin was easily defeated by Obi-Wan on Mustafar. The key art for the new series continues to build anticipation for Vader's arrival, which in Star Wars canon would be the first time the Jedi Master would be forced to confront his former Padawan after he was turned to the Dark Side. Though Vader may be a smaller element of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi poster, the tease of his igniting his lightsaber on a desert planet, likely Tatooine, should prove an exciting look at what's to come from the character's appearance in the show.

Long before the first images and trailers arrived for the series, concept art for Obi-Wan Kenobi teased that McGregor's Jedi Master would be engage in a rematch with Darth Vader. The new poster and trailer continue to build anticipation for this new fight between the former friends, while the latter also teases plenty of exciting conflicts between Obi-Wan and Galactic Empire threats, namely the Grand Inquisitor and various other Inquisitors. The wait for the next Star Wars chapter is nearly over as Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
