For his new Disney+ show, Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a brand new costume that has finally been revealed in first look images. Lucasfilm is in the midst of creating numerous shows for Disney+, and the next one on the release calendar is by far the most anticipated. Obi-Wan Kenobi will see McGregor return to his iconic character for the first time since the prequel trilogy, something fans have long wanted to see. He'll be joined by some exciting franchise newcomers, like Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, and Indira Varma. At the same time, Obi-Wan Kenobi will feature a reunion years in the making: Hayden Christensen also returns to play Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi picks up ten years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. It'll find Obi-Wan hiding out on Tatooine, watching over a young Luke Skywalker as he grows up under the care of Uncle Owen (Joel Edgerton) and Aunt Beru (Bonnie Piesse). Little else is known about the plot, save for that it will send Obi-Wan on a brand new adventure. Deborah Chow directs Obi-Wan Kenobi, while Joby Harold serves as the writer for all 6 episodes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ at the end of May, but EW has given fans an early peek at the Star Wars show. Tucked within this batch of images is McGregor's updated Obi-Wan costume, which differs from both the prequels and the original trilogy. Though his robes somewhat resemble his previous looks, it's clear Obi-Wan has taken a more understated approach to his appearance while in hiding. Check out the images below.

Star Wars fans have seen Obi-Wan standing tall among other Jedi and as a hermit among the dunes of Tatooine. Obi-Wan Kenobi the show will find him somewhere between those times. Due to the events of Order 66, Obi-Wan must live in hiding, which is why his new costume is altogether rather simple. He cannot draw attention to himself. As the rest of the Obi-Wan Kenobi images show, an Inquisitor (Ingram) is coming up on his tail, so expect the early episodes of the show to find McGregor's character keeping a low profile. Only time will tell how long that truly lasts.

Beyond the handful of details that have been revealed so far, Lucasfilm is keeping Obi-Wan Kenobi shrouded in secrecy. That isn't too surprising considering its highly anticipated nature. At the same time, the fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi's marketing is officially getting underway more than two months before it premieres says fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. There are rumors of the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer debuting soon; if that's true, it won't be long before audiences actually get to see McGregor back in action.
