A new report indicates that Obi-Wan Kenobi will feature another Star Wars prequel character in Bail Organa. Princess Leia's (Carrie Fisher) adopted father was an ally of the Rebellion before it was formalized. Before the Galactic Empire's take over, however, he was an Alderaan politician, and so he had a close professional relationship with the Jedi Council. Now, it seems like he will somehow be involved in Obi-Wan's (Ewan McGregor) next adventure.

Following years of clamor from fans, Lucasfilm finally heeded to their demand to see beloved Jedi back on the screen. Despite the divisive response to the prequel trilogy, McGregor's portrayal of young Obi-Wan Kenobi got rave reviews; no wonder, the public wanted to see more of him. Originally conceived as a movie, Obi-Wan Kenobi was reworked to be a series on Disney+ which will follow its titular character 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. While plot specifics of the project remain under wraps, it's been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will star in it as Darth Vader.

Now, aside from the pair, another Star Wars prequel character may also be appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to Making Star Wars, Jimmy Smits will reprise his role as Bail Organa in the new show. The outlet's sources spotted the actor on the set of the project, but because it was heavily guarded, his involvement was uncertain for a while. But now, they've been getting confirmations backing up his appearance. Aside from him, the site's anonymous tipster also shared that Breha Organa will be back as Bail's wife and Leia's adopted mother. It's unclear, however, if original actress Rebecca Jackson Mendoza will be in the Disney+ venture.

Recently, Lucasfilm confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut on the House of Mouse's streaming service on May 25, 2022. Obviously, there's already a lot of buzz surrounding the project for several reasons. Firstly, fans are just clamoring to know more about what the titular Jedi is up to around this time in Star Wars history — something that's very little is known about thus far. Secondly, his impending reunion and duel with Anakin Skywalker, which has been billed as the rematch of the century, is something that everyone is looking forward to, especially how their last encounter went down. But now, aside from these, it seems like the series is also giving viewers an update about how the Skywalker twins are doing around this time. On top of the Organas, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse will also be reprising their prequel roles as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars.

With just several weeks to go before it launches on Disney+, expect Lucasfilm to kick off the marketing for Obi-Wan Kenobi. This means that a proper trailer roll out is near. Aside from that, official information could also be on the way. Fans expected a marketing clip to debut during Super Bowl LVI, but that, unfortunately, didn't happen. Still, with its premiere date nearing, chances are that more information about its story will come out soon.
