The first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is in the books. While rumors swirl about a potential second season, fans are still rewinding to their favorite parts and episodes. Though not without its flaws, the show definitely ended on a high note, as Kenobi finally confronts his old apprentice, as well as his own demons.

One of the most notable aspects of Kenobi is the diverse cast of powerful characters that bring it to life. Set in a time in the Star Wars galaxy when Force-users are rare, the show brings forth a good balance between them and ordinary people trying to do their best to fight evil. The show sets up a clear hierarchy, leaving no doubt as to which of its characters are the most powerful.

Haja Estree

Haja Estree looking shocked in Obi-Wan Kenobi

A con-man pretending to be a Jedi, Haja runs a lucrative operation from the streets of Daiyu. He's paid to smuggle Force-sensitive children off the planet and relies on magnets and mechanized trickery to convince clients he's a trustworthy Jedi.

Quick with a blaster but even quicker with his tongue, Haja's power doesn't come from his military skill. He relies on his street smarts to keep him alive, which is natural for a man trying to make his living on Daiyu. He manages to win over Obi-Wan, but more impressively he escapes interrogation from the Third Sister with his head still attached, a clear testament to his power of persuasion.

Leia Organa

Why Revas Force Power Didn't Work On Leia

Captured again after her first rescue by Kenobi, young princess Leia Organa finds herself face-to-face with Reva. Convinced that she's hiding the truth about Obi-Wan, the Third Sister probes Leia's mind for information using the Force, but the child proves resistant to her techniques.

This is a quick scene, but it's an excellent moment of foreshadowing. As a daughter of Anakin Skywalker, Leia inherited a strong connection to the Force. Although she's too young to know it, she's subconsciously tapping into that connection to keep Reva out of her head. It's a fun original trilogy tease with Leia, a hint at her future as a leader and Force-wielder.

Tala Durith

A former Imperial officer, Tala became disillusioned with the Empire's casual brutality after watching them murder a family of Force-sensitives. She defected and joined The Path, an underground network dedicated to smuggling Jedi to safety.

Tala is quick with a blaster, able to take out dozens of stormtroopers with ease. Tala has definite main character energy, and her true power comes from her devotion to her cause. Harboring fugitive Jedi is incredibly dangerous, but Tala doesn't flinch from the responsibility. Indeed, she's willing to bluff her way into Imperial strongholds and even sacrifice her own life if it means helping the Jedi ultimately succeed over the Empire.

Kawlan Roken

Roken in Obi-Wan Kenobi

Another member of the Path, Roken operates his cell on the remote world of Jabiim. His connection to the conflict is personal, as the Inquisitors hunted and killed his wife after the discovery of her Force-sensitivity. Incredibly steadfast in the face of adversity, he even rallies Obi-Wan's spirits when things look hopeless.

Roken's strength comes more from his technological advantages. He has a large base and more supplies available to him on Jabiim, and he takes full advantage. He is able to dispatch speeders to save Tala, Leia and Obi-Wan from the Inquisitor's fortress, and distracts Darth Vader with a decoy ship while the refugees he's helping escape. It's unclear if Roken gets a larger role in the Rebellion to come, but he'd make an able general.

Owen and Beru Lars

Owen and Beru Lars appear in Attack of the Clones.

Some of the most recognizable original trilogy characters in Kenobi, Owen and Beru are Luke's adoptive parents, and they are fiercely protective of the boy. Owen is willing to alienate Kenobi to keep Luke safe, and both of them fight stubbornly (though unsuccessfully) to keep Reva away from Luke.

Although they end up losing, the fact that they survived their confrontation with a fully trained Inquisitor is evidence of how powerful these two are. Their love for Luke gives them strength and courage, especially Beru, who refuses adamantly when Owen suggests they flee the Third Sister.

Fifth Brother

The Fifth Brother in Obi-Wan Kenobi show

The Fifth Brother is a member of the Inquisitors, ex-Jedi and other Force-sensitives used by the Empire to track down survivors of Order 66. Heartless, but not rash, the Fifth Brother often clashes with Reva over her headlong tactics in pursuit of Jedi, and especially Kenobi.

Though he may not believe in simply cutting down everyone in his path to achieve his objectives, the Fifth Brother wields an impressive amount of power with the armed might of the Empire at his back. Fans who haven't streamed Rebels yet should look into it, as the Fifth Brother has a much larger role and connects Kenobi to the wider Star Wars universe.

Reva Sevander

Reva in Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 5

Also known as the Third Sister, Reva is a former Jedi youngling with vivid, traumatic memories of Order 66. Wounded by Anakin Skywalker personally, she survived to carry a deadly grudge through the years that led to her plot of drawing Kenobi out to leave Vader vulnerable to her.

Though some fans were disappointed with Reva, she's undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters on the show. She can deceive even the Grand Inquisitor when she wants to, not revealing her true intentions toward him until she stabs him through the chest. Most impressively, however, she manages to hold her own in a duel with Lord Vader and survives her own impaling at his hand.

The Grand Inquisitor

Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor in Obi Wan Kenobi

The leader of the Inquisitors, the Grand Inquisitor answers only to Lord Vader and the Emperor himself. Though stabbed by Reva in her single-minded pursuit of Kenobi, the Grand Inquisitor survives to reclaim his position and dispose of his former pupil.

"Revenge does wonders for the will to live," he sneers at a shocked Reva when he reveals himself, and therein lies the true essence of the Grand Inquisitor's power. His hatred of her, his need to avenge himself helped him survive what would otherwise have been a deadly wound, demonstrating his deep connection to the Dark Side of the Force.

Darth Vader

Darth-Vader-Pulling-Down-Ship-In-Obi-Wan-Episode-5

Nine years after his transformation from Anakin Skywalker into the Dark Lord of the Sith, Vader's obsession with finding and destroying Kenobi is unyielding. He'll sacrifice any innocent life, demolish entire star systems if it means avenging himself on his old master.

The show clearly wanted to give fans a Vader at the height of his power, and the results are indeed terrifying. He pulls starships from the skies and tears them open, or drags a weakened Kenobi through a flaming pit in the name of revenge. He is brutal, single-minded, and even his near destruction at the show's end only serves to increase his anger and hatred.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi uses the Force to fight Darth Vader

One of the last members of the Jedi Council still living, Obi-Wan has all but left Jedi life behind him at the show's beginning. His mission to save Leia rekindles his deep connection to the Force, and restores his status as of the most powerful beings in the Star Wars galaxy.

Obi-Wan's journey is as much about resolving his self-doubt and seeking closure as it is about rescuing the young princess. Once he achieves the closure he seeks, his power returns. In the end he is able to overpower even Darth Vader, pummeling him with boulders and smashing his breathing apparatus. He is also finally able to commune with his old master Qui-Gon, a power he had been seeking ever since accepting exile on Tatooine nearly a decade before.
