A brand new Obi-Wan Kenobi billboard sees Darth Vader looming over New York City. The ongoing Disney+ series has crossed its midpoint, with the series finale set to release on June 22. Despite that and its high viewership, Disney continues to market the show as it nears its end.

Hayden Christensen returns to Star Wars for the first time after wrapping up his work on Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. The actor reprises his role as Darth Vader, joining Ewan McGregor, who is back as the titular Jedi Master. After his brief first appearance at the end of episode 2, Darth Vader truly joined the show in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3, when he encountered his former Jedi Master for the first time since their falling out on Mustafar. Now that the Sith Lord is finally back in Star Wars, Disney+ is taking advantage of his popularity by putting him front-and-center in its latest marketing scheme.

Posted on Obi-Wan Kenobi's official Twitter account is a video of a brand new digital billboard in New York. In it, Darth Vader looms over the public as he ignites his lightsaber. The Sith Lord doesn't say anything, but his iconic breathing is more than enough to highlight just how menacing he is. Check out the clip below:

Lucasfilm deciding to reveal Darth Vader early in Obi-Wan Kenobi was quite surprising. When it was confirmed that the Sith Lord would return and Christensen would play him, many assumed that he would be saved for the end of the series. That being said, it makes sense that the show is taking advantage of the character's involvement, as it would've been a waste if there's a lot of build-up to very limited involvement. His duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi wasn't even a proper fight - Vader dominated throughout the entire ordeal, forcing Obi-Wan to either defend himself or flee from his former Padawan.

Christensen previously said that Darth Vader isn't exactly at his prime yet in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he's definitely ruthless in it, not holding back in terms of leaning on the dark side of the Force to get what he wants. This new billboard is a great reminder of how frightening he can be, especially on the heels of his lopsided matchup with Obi-Wan. It'll be interesting to see if the Disney+ series will bring back the Sith Lord again for another duel with the Jedi Master, or if its storytelling will be shifting its focus to Moses Ingram's Inquisitor Reva, who is the primary villain of the project.
