Badges for New York Comic Con are now fully refundable and exchangeable. New York Comic Con is an annual fan convention that devotes itself to all things geeky: video games, comics, movies, anime, television and toys. The massive event began in 2006, and since then, it has become the San Diego Comic-Con of the East Coast, with many television networks, film studios and streaming subscription providers hosting panels at the show.
NYCC is also where a lot of the most important announcements in geeky fandom get made. During panels, fans get access to exclusive never-before-seen footage and trailers of their favorite TV shows and movies, while many of those panels go on to announce new shows, films and premiere dates. Last year, attendees were the first to see the new trailer for the upcoming Hellboy reboot starring David Harbour. Last year also saw the official announcement of the season 2 premiere date of CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery. This year's event promises more of the same when it happens October 3-6 at the Javits Center in New York City.

ReedPOP, who produces and manages NYCC, recently announced some changes to this year's event. For starters, the company will allow those who purchase badges to get refunds on badges, as well as exchange them. ReedPop is using an approved reseller, Lyte, for exchanges, in an attempt to control outrageous pricing by resellers, as well as fake tickets. Fan verification accounts will now only be required for those buying badges during the general onsale. However, fans who want to participate in lotteries and exclusives must have a Fan Verification account. Finally, ReedPop is bringing 4-day badges for pre-sale only.
Fans who win lotteries will still have reserved seating for Main Stage panels, but ReedPop plans on adding the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center and the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden to their system. There will be limited seats available through the lottery, while the rest are first come, first served. ReedPop recently introduced a similar panel lottery and reservation system to its Star Wars Celebration Chicago show, hoping that it would create a more fair environment for fans who want to see larger panels during the event.
Although NYCC is far from releasing an official schedule, it is likely that it will feature a pretty big line-up. Fans might even get a panel dedicated to Terminator: Dark Fate, considering its headed for a November release, but even if they don't, some of entertainment's most notable studios will undoubtedly be present.
