Nvidia GeForce Now is one of the most prominent game streaming services on the market, and if you have an LG TV, playing GeForce Now couldn't be easier. The way people play video games has changed dramatically in a very short amount of time. A few years ago, gaming was relegated to consoles and high-end PCs. Today, it's much more accessible thanks to game streaming services like GeForce. So long as someone has a compatible device and a fast enough internet connection, they can use GeForce Now to stream PC games virtually anywhere — whether it's on their smartphone, laptop, a television, or even a car.

This is one of GeForce Now's greatest strengths. It's available for just about any gadget you can imagine. There are GeForce Now apps for Android, Windows, Mac, and even select TVs. More specifically, anyone with a modern LG TV can download the GeForce Now app and start playing games right on their television. Doing so is as simple as it gets. On your LG TV, open the LG Content Store and search for GeForce Now. Find the app, download it, and that's it! If someone doesn't already have a GeForce Now account, this is the point where they should go and make one (either on their phone or computer). Once you create an account, or if you already have one, log into the GeForce Now app on the LG TV and start playing.

What You Need To Play GeForce Now On An LG TV

LG OLED TV with Nvidia GeForce Now

As is often the case, however, there are some caveats to consider before doing this. Most importantly, the GeForce Now app only works with select LG TVs released in 2021 or later. Only OLED and 4K UHD models are compatible, and they need to be running webOS 6.0 or later. LG has a comprehensive list of all supported model numbers on its website, but the gist is that only the newest LG TVs work with GeForce Now.

It's also important for people to make sure their internet is fast enough to handle GeForce Now. Nvidia recommends at least 15Mbps download speeds to play games in 720p at 60fps. To play titles in 1080p Full HD, folks need to have internet speeds of 25Mbps or faster. Nvidia also urges users to play games with a hardwired Ethernet connection to their LG TV, but it says a router with 5GHz Wi-Fi should also work.

Gamepad & Keyboard Compatibility — What’s Supported?PS5 Controller DualSense

Last but not least, let's talk supported controllers. In order to play games using the GeForce Now app on an LG TV or any other Smart TV, users must use a gamepad. Unfortunately for gamers who prefer a keyboard and mouse setup, that will not work in this situation. Nvidia says a keyboard and mouse can only be used to navigate the app — not for playing the actual games.

It does, however, support many of the most common controllers out today. Nvidia says any of the following will work: Nvidia Shield controller, any Xbox Wireless controller, an Xbox 360 controller, PS5 DualSense, DualShock 4, or a Logitech Gamepad (including F310, F710, and Dual Action USB). Beyond that, it’s a toss-up; according to Nvidia, others “may” work, so users will have to just give it a try, and check to make sure they’ve got the proper drivers and software updates installed. There are a lot of hoops to jump through, but they're all necessary to play Nvidia GeForce Now on an LG TV.
