Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien are deluded influencers in the first full Not Okay trailer. Written and directed by Quinn Shephard, Not Okay centers around Danni Sanders (Deutch) who, in her misguided attempts to find fame and friends, ends up faking a trip to Paris. She hopes the trip will give a boost to her social media presence. However, a terrifying incident occurs in the real world and soon becomes part of the otherwise fake trip. While Not Okay sees Danni even land the man of her dreams in Colin (O’Brien), the fake trip spirals into a lie that threatens to crumble at any moment.
A previous teaser trailer for Not Okay cheekily warned that the plot revolved around an unlikable female protagonist. Now, a full trailer has been released. It shows how Danni got herself into such a worrying scheme and offers an extended look at O’Brien as the heavily-tattooed and fleetingly interested Colin. Making its Hulu debut on July 29, Not Okay also stars Mia Isaac, Embeth Davidtz, Brennan Brown, Karan Soni, Nadia Alexander, Tia Dionne Hodge, Negin Farsad, Sarah Yarkin, and Dash Perry. In their last collaboration, The Outfit, which debuted in March, Deutch and O’Brien played into the world of gangster dramas and suave characters with competing interests. As the full trailer for Not Okay makes clear, their second collaboration will feature the two performers delving into the carefully-calibrated influencer space for a bit of mockery, which perfectly suits the actors' talent for both comedy and drama. The pair's brand new dynamic will become clear when Not Okay releases this month.
