Jami O'Brien's supernatural television series NOS4A2 season 2 perfectly set up the story of Victoria "Vic" McQueen to continue for season 3, but will it return?

NOS4A2 is based on the original novel of the same name written by Joe Hill, as well as his 2014 graphic novel, Wraith. The AMC show follows Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), who has just discovered that she is a strong creative with the ability to open the Shorter Way inscape with the help of her knife. Throughout season 1 and season 2, she battles the nefarious Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). He uses his strong creative abilities to kidnap children and transport them to "Christmasland". Along the way, Manx's Rolls Royce Wraith transforms them into bloodthirsty vampires. In season 2, Vic believed that she was safe but quickly discovered that she must destroy Christmasland to rid the world of the evil that is Charlie Manx. As new creatives were introduced and inscapes opened, her mission became increasingly complicated and dangerous for she and her son, Bruce Wayne McQueen.

Vic McQueen is an incredibly powerful mother, vampire slayer, and strong creative who triumphs over evil time and again. With Christmasland currently in shambles, season 2 set up the perfect story line for season 3., but sadly, it won't get to be explored.

NOS4A2 Season 3 Has Been Canceled

In a big blow to fans, AMC announced that NOS4A2 was officially being canceled on August 31, 2020. While not a massive hit in the ratings, most weren't expecting the story to simply be cut short with no resolution. Unless a follow-up movie or wrap-up episode happens though, fans will be left stumbling in the dark.

NOS4A2 Season 3 Possible Story Details

NOS4A2 season 2 left an abundance of questions unanswered, which set up the story for a potential season 3. Season 3 would likely have found Vic McQueen in the midst of repairing the damage done by Charlie Manx to every child in Christmasland as well as her son. There could've even been an extra character's story line added to the series - Millie Manx, Charlie's daughter. When season 2 introduced the complex story of the Manx family, it exposed Millie to the possibility that she could live a life beyond the confines of the festive inscape. NOS4A2 might've shifted attention from Vic McQueen entirely as well, and focused instead on the children of Christmasland. While she would've definitely played a big role in season 3, Bruce Wayne McQueen and Millie Manx could've been the primary subjects in the next chapter of NOS4A2.

Now that Vic McQueen knows she can travel throughout various inscapes with her knife, her creative powers are only growing stronger and bringing her closer to destroying Charlie Manx. The future of the series could've been so full of possibilities for new characters, creatives, and story lines, and maybe even a new villain. But alas, the road for NOS4A2 is over.
