Something terrifying is coming as an alien UFO arrives a new Nope trailer. Jordan Peele is at the helm of his third horror movie after his hit debut Get Out and well-received follow-up Us, having penned the script for the new film and producing alongside Ian Cooper via his Monkeypaw Productions banner. Nope is set in an isolated California desert town and centers on James and Jill Haywood, owners of a Hollywood horse ranch as they and their neighbors find themselves at the center of an extraterrestrial event.

Keke Palmer is leading the cast of Nope as Jill alongside Daniel Kaluuya as James, Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, Barbie Ferreira, Donna Mills, Jennifer Lafleur, Andrew Patrick Ralston, Terry Notary and Keith David as Haywood patriarch Pops. After two years of development and COVID-related delays, Nope finally kicked off filming in mid-2021 and wrapped later that year. As the film gears up for its summer release, audiences are getting an exciting new glimpse at Peele's return to the horror genre.

Despite its 30-second runtime, the new Nope trailer is full of clues of what's to come from Peele's new horror movie, most notably the first proper look at an alien UFO. Audiences have been theorizing the possibility of aliens being in the film since Nope's first poster showed a lone cloud carrying carnival string under it, with further posters and trailers seemingly confirming the extraterrestrial threats with plenty of characters looking up terrified at the sky and alien-like figures littered throughout. The new Nope trailer not only acts as the best proof of the alien threat, but also shows them in action as the UFO chases down Daniel Kaluuya's James and uses some kind of tractor beam in the process.

Outside of the plot hints, the new Nope trailer also offers a nice glimpse into the blend of comedy in Peele's new horror movie, with the writer/director having received rave reviews for his ability to blend levity with the terror of his works. The trailer also continues a notable trend in Peele's filmography in which trailers for his films use their titles in memorable ways, be it Lakeith Stanfield's impassioned pleas for Kaluuya to "Get Out" or Evan Alex's shocking realization that the red-suited intruders were "Us." The wait for Peele's horror genre return is nearly over as Nope hits theaters on July 22.
