The Nokia T10 is HMD Global's second Android tablet, and it arrives as a smaller and cheaper alternative to the Nokia T20. HMD Global announced the Nokia T20 in 2021 as its first Android tablet. While its 10-inch display and all-day battery life may have appealed to many users, those who wanted a smaller device had to consider alternatives such as Samsung's Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.
Not content with losing that segment of the tablet market, HMD Global has followed up with a smaller variant of the T20 that also costs less. The new Nokia T10 will go up against the aforementioned competition as well as Amazon's own Fire 7 Tablet which recently received a refresh.
Since the Nokia T10 is a budget tablet, its design and build reflect just that. There are thick bezels running around the display while the back is made of polycarbonate. HMD Global doesn't seem to have used Corning's Gorilla Glass for the display as the spec sheet says it is “toughened glass.” However, it does state that the Nokia T10 has an IPX2 rating which means it should survive use under light showers but not full immersion in water. Like the Nokia T20, this is also available in a single colorway called Ocean Blue.
The Nokia T10 Will Receive Two Android Updates
The 8-inch 1,280 x 800 display of the Nokia T10 makes it easier to use with one hand. The device is also Netflix HD certified and has support for Widevine L1. When held in landscape mode, the tablet has its power button on the left and the volume control buttons at the top, similar to that of the iPad mini. However, it is best used in portrait mode for video calls, as this orientation puts the 2MP front-facing camera at the top.
Under the hood is the Unisoc T606, an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The processor is paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. Those who need more storage will be happy to find a microSD card slot present on the device for adding up to an extra 512GB. The rear camera is an 8MP sensor with an LED flash for low-light shots. The Nokia T10 doesn't have a fingerprint scanner but the front camera is capable of face unlock with a mask mode included as well.
In addition, the tablet has Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo), a headphone jack, stereo speakers, and optional LTE via a nano-SIM slot. There is no mention of the battery capacity but Nokia says it will last a whole day. It supports 10W charging and comes bundled with an adapter. Unlike the Nokia T20 which launched with Android 11, the Nokia T10 runs Android 12 out of the box with Google Kids Space and Google Entertainment Space. A pretty neat feature of the tablet is that it can be paired to a Windows PC and transformed into a second display with touch control.
HMD Global is also promising two OS upgrades which means it will get Android 13 and Android 14. It will also receive three years of security updates. The Nokia T10 will be available in the UK for £129 and will begin shipping in late July. For this price, users get the LTE variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Nokia T10 will also go on sale in the U.S. for $159, but this variant is expected to feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
