The Nokia G400 is one of four new Nokia-branded Android smartphones announced at CES 2022. As the new year begins, Nokia Mobile is continuing its tradition of focusing on churning out entry-level and mid-range smartphones in addition to relaunching classics from the old Nokia era. The brand doesn't seem to be too interested in releasing a new flagship yet, even if that's what a lot of consumers want.

Nokia Mobile phones are made by the Finnish company, HMD Global, as part of a licensing agreement between the two companies. The Nokia brand name has also been licensed to other companies that make other devices, such as earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, laptops, TVs, and Android TV streaming devices. However, the mobile phones remain of particular interest due to the dominance the name used to enjoy.

The Nokia G400 5G smartphone is a little cheaper than the T-Mobile-exclusive Nokia X100 that was launched in November 2021. Both phones share some specifications and features, but their designs are quite different. For the Nokia G400, HMD Global has equipped the phone with a display that has a waterdrop notch housing the front-facing camera. As shown in the image from Nokia Power User, the Nokia 6400 has also swapped the cookie-shaped camera housing for a rectangular camera island. There are three cameras on the back of the phone and the lack of a visible fingerprint scanner means it either doesn't have one or it is buried under the power button on the side.

While the specifications are not mind-blowing, there is still a lot being offered considering the price. The 6.6-inch display features a 120Hz refresh rate which is a first for a Nokia-branded smartphone. There's a Snapdragon 480 5G processor powering the phone alongside 6GB 0f RAM and 128GB of storage. The main rear camera is a 48-megapixel sensor and this is joined by a 5-megapixel ultrawide angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The rest of the specifications remain unknown, but it has been reported that the Nokia G400 will run Android 12 out of the box and cost $239 when it becomes available later this year in the United States.

For those on a tighter budget, there's the Nokia C100 and Nokia C200 priced at $99 and $119 respectively. Both pack a 4000 mAh battery capacity, a Mediatek Helio A22 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. They will also run Android 12 out of the box. There is also the Nokia G100 which costs $149 and will ship with a 6.5-inch HD+ display, a Snapdragon 615 processor, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 5000 mAh battery. The Nokia 2760 (shown above) is also due to be released in the coming weeks, priced at $79.
