Warning: Spoilers Ahead For Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2

Here's how Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 ends, and how it sets up another sequel. Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 and the original movie are gleeful throwbacks to the splatter movies of the '80s and they exist primarily to deliver gory kills. Despite being something of a box office disappointment back in 2007, the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez co-directed Grindhouse seemingly inspired this modern wave of throwback horror movies. The likes of It Follows or The Guest owe an obvious debt to the work of John Carpenter, while even the likes of Jordan Peele's Get Out pays homage to the social horrors of Rosemary's Baby.

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2, leans closer in spirit to the Wrong Turn movies, picks up right after the first film, which bore the distinction of being the first Polish slasher film. The sequel reveals that final girl Zosia has been taken to the local police station - as have the mutant twins who caused the chaos seen in the original. These two were mutated by the black goo from a piece of a meteor and proceeded to wipe out the teens from a local camp, but despite Zosia's best efforts, they proved unkillable. Zosia is soon taken back to the crime scene but is also turned into a monster, and later converts rookie cop Adam into a creature like herself.

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 takes a pretty wild turn around the midway point. It no longer follows hapless survivors being chased by bloodthirsty creatures but instead tracks the burgeoning romance between the Zosia and Adam as they kill humans. It all builds to a suitably tragic ending, however, so here's Nobody Sleeps In The Wood Tonight 2 ending explained and how it might set up a potential third chapter.

After Adam turns into a monster in Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2, he ensures his first kill is the owner of a local shop who Adam witnessed kicking a dog. After the deed is done, he and Zosia get intimate and plan to spring the mutant twins from the precinct. This is where they come up against the last surviving officer Wanessa - who tried to sacrifice Adam earlier so she could escape - who tries to kill them with an assault rifle. When she has them cornered she also tosses a grenade at them - but it appears to be a dud as it doesn't go off.

The gun jams and Adam grabs her, but can't bring himself to kill her. This drives Zosia into a rage, and she pays homage to John Woo's movie Face/Off by tearing Wanessa's face off in anger before stomping on her head. Zosia then rushes out of the building, only to be run over - repeatedly - by the special forces who are were called in by the government to investigate the events of Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight. The twins also leave their prison cell, only to pick up the "defective" grenade thrown by Wanessa, which then explodes and destroys the building. Adam is seized by the special forces team and taken into custody, heartbroken over Zosia's death.

Did The Twins And Zosia Actually Die?

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 ending is a downer note for just about everyone. All the main human characters - even the few survivors from the original - are dead, while the main characters Romero and Juliet-inspired monster romance is cut short in the bluntest way imaginable. Adam is hauled away by special forces as the fire rages from the explosion, and as he's taken away for testing, all hope appears lost. That said, despite Zosia being squashed by multiple trucks and the twins being blasted, they may not actually be dead.

The original Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight establishes the twins are basically immortal, and they survived many injuries that would kill a normal human. The black ooze from the meteor grants superhuman strength, speed and regeneration, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Zosia and the Twins managed to pull themselves together for a third entry. The franchise's Wrong Turn-inspired cannibal monsters also appear to be attracted to one another, as seen when Zosia decided to break the twins out of jail. This means they may try to rescue the captured Adam. That said, Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2's ending doesn't hint at their potential survival.

Nobody Sleeps In The The Woods Tonight 2's Sequel Tease

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 adam experiment ending

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 ends on a mid-credits scene that shows Adam tied to a table and being experimented on. Following his transformation, Adam had trouble fully surrendering his humanity, which is partly why he couldn't kill Wanessa. He also practiced his monster scream with Zosia earlier in the story but it didn't come out right, but as scientists extract some blood from him, he lets out a ferocious roar.

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 ends with the implication scientists want to uncover the secrets behind the mutants and the mysterious meteor that spawned them. While this could be for practical purposes like discovering their weaknesses so mankind can fight back, they may also want these abilities so they can harness them for nefarious purposes. After all, uncovering the power to grant regenerative healing or even immortality would be very attractive to the powers that be.

Either way, it appears this will be the starting point for a potential Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 3, where Adam himself will likely be the main villain. By the credits scene, the loss of Zosia and the experiments being performed on him appear to have purged him of his remaining humanity. Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight 2 also revealed the meteor itself came from the moon and the black goo inside is the "essence of evil," so the origin of this somewhat Venom-like sentient substance will likely be explored further. Zosia also explained to Adam she wanted to launch an "apocalypse" against the human race and wipe them all out, so if the infection were to spread beyond the isolated woods of the first two movies, the consequences would be dire.
