Nobody shares a stealthy link to the John Wick movies and Atomic Blonde that's hiding in plain sight. The Bob Odenkirk-led action movie has been likened to John Wick, with the two sharing an assassin movie premise and Nobody's  action scenes also carrying a John Wick-feel to them. 2017's Atomic Blonde was also compared to John Wick upon its release, and these comparisons are obviously meant to be complimentary.

There's a good reason behind those comparisons, because Nobody shares a lot of the same creatives as those movies. The film was written by Derek Kolstad, who created John Wick and has penned each movie so far. Meanwhile, it was produced by David Leitch, who co-directed John Wick and directed Atomic Blonde. But there's also a connection in front of the camera too, as all three share a cast member, who has been utilized in much the same way throughout all of them.

Specifically, Daniel Bernhardt can be seen in John Wick, Atomic Blonde, and Nobody. Hailing from Switzerland, Bernhardt first gained attention for anchoring all three of the Bloodsport sequels. Bernhardt subsequently portrayed Agent Johnson in The Matrix Reloaded, and will reprise the role in The Matrix 4. He has also done stuntwork on movies such as Deadpool 2 and Alita: Battle Angel, while also getting his legs broken by Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey and bringing his martial arts ability to the 2020 sci-fi movie Skylines. Now he's part of Nobody's cast, portraying a gang member who has very rough encounter with Odenkirk's Hutch Mansell, with Hutch taking out his frustrations from a recent home break-in on the gang and helping a young woman aboard the bus escape.

Bernhardt also served as co-fight coordinator on Nobody, and trained Odenkirk to get in shape for the film. While it's not huge role, Bernhardt's done this same kind of dance before in John Wick and Atomic Blonde. Bernhardt was seen in the John Wick series in the very first chapter in 2014, portraying the villainous henchman Kirill who faces off with John in the movie. Though Kirill is killed by John, Bernhardt returned to perform stuntwork on both John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 - ParabellumBernhardt was also seen in Atomic Blonde as one of the main opponents Charlize Theron's Lorraine Broughton faces in the film's show-stopping stairwell fight scene.

Though Bernhardt's roles in Atomic Blonde and Nobody are relatively minor in terms of character significance, compared to the prominent enforcer Kirill is in John Wick, he makes a big impression as a formidable henchman who tests the skills of the protagonist. Nobody itself also shows how much his talents extend to behind the camera in his role as both the movie's co-fight coordinator and getting Odenkirk in shape to portray an assassin in hiding like Hutch. The movie's bus fight is a visceral, raw exercise in bodies being pummeled to a bloody pulp, and the level that Odenkirk got to for the role really shows.

Bernhardt's role in Nobody is admittedly more of an unnamed opponent mainly there for the hero to punch him half to death, while both John Wick and Atomic Blonde made more extensive use of Bernhardt as a martial artist. Nevertheless, Bernhardt's appearance in all three movies creates a fun little bit of Where's Waldo-style connective tissue between each of them. Should a sequel to Nobody be greenlit, or a crossover between the three ever happen to form an "Assassin Cinematic Universe" of sorts, it doesn't seem impossible that Daniel Bernhardt might drop in on the action once more (and hopefully bring his fellow bus gangster Alain Moussi of Kickboxer: Vengeance and Jiu Jitsu fame with him).
