The first reactions to No Time to Die are rolling in and here's what people are saying about Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond. The latest installment in the action franchise is set five years after the events of Spectre as Bond has left active service to enjoy a peaceful life with Dr. Madeleine Swann. However, he is drawn back in when CIA friend Felix Leiter approaches him for help in the search of a missing scientist, which leads Bond to the terrorist leader Lyutsifer Safin.

Alongside Craig, the film will feature the returns of franchise vets Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Quartermaster "Q," Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine and Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. No Time to Die will also feature the series introductions of Rami Malek as Safin, Lashana Lynch as new 007 Nomi and Ana de Armas as CIA agent Paloma. Following numerous delays due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the film's theatrical release is finally around the corner and now some audiences are getting their eyes on the long-awaited chapter.

Despite starting strong with Casino Royale, the past 15 years have seen a wide range of responses to the subsequent James Bond films with Craig in the part. The action sequences and Craig's performance have received consistent praise across the four released films while the story and tone have varied from moving tales to campier affairs more akin to the films of old and it appears the early reactions to No Time to Die fall right in the middle of both. Critics are once again celebrating Craig's turn in the film and the writing put to wrapping up his time in the role and while the setpieces sound just as amazing as in previous films, some reactions note it will once again be a divisive effort from fans and touches on some of the lackluster elements of older Bond films.

With full reviews for No Time to Die set to arrive later today, it will be interesting to see what critics full opinions are on Craig's farewell to the series and what the divisive elements prove to be. A likely candidate for a potential divide will be that of Lynch's Nomi, already splitting franchise fans on her position of possibly carrying on 007 past the film with marketing, let alone how the full story potentially sets her up to become the next lead of the super spy franchise. Only time will tell when No Time to Die hits theaters on October 8.
