Quantum Computers are an essential material in No Man's Sky, and they have a variety of uses. There are almost too many materials to keep track of in the endless space survival game, but one of the best features in No Man's Sky is that if it can be found, it can most likely be mined or built. Quantum Computers are one such item, and they're relatively easy to acquire.

The first time anyone needs a Quantum Computer, it's always a mad scramble to acquire. Originally they could only be found from random Merchants scattered throughout the Universe. While they still can be found purchased from random Merchants for 5,000 units. Additionally, one of the greatest things about No Man's Sky is that if any item is needed, hover the cursor over the item to pin the item's details. An item subquest will be added to the log, and if it's active the log will direct travelers wherever they need to go.

Quantum Computers now have a blueprint in No Man's Sky, and thanks to the Prisms update in June 2021 the blueprint can be purchased at the Space Anomaly Synthesis Laboratory for 250 Nanites. By far the easiest way to get Nanites in large amounts is to purchase and deconstruct an A-Class Shuttle, but Nanites can be found everywhere. Broken scrap piles, Derelict Freighters, abandoned buildings, and even some very rare animal species will all have Nanites available. Blueprints can also be found in some Manufacturing Facilities and operation centers.

After the Quantum Computer Blueprint is unlocked, all it takes to craft one is a Microprocessor, Antimatter, and 25 Chromatic Metal. These materials can either be crafted, purchased, or mined from common sources explained through the base No Man's Sky storyline. Quantum Computers are used to craft a number of items:

  • Amplified Warp Shielding
  • Holographic Analysers
  • Optical Drill
  • Oxygen Rerouter
  • Pulse Spitter Ricochet Module
  • Q-Resonator
  • Superior Translator
  • Survey Device
  • Warp Core Resonators

Occasionally, depending on the ship and its upgrades, dismantling a ship for scrap may reward Quantum Computers in No Man's Sky. Because Quantum Computers are readily available from a number of methods, it might be best to have a stockpile of the crafting materials and create them as need be to save inventory space. Alternatively, another great method of having Quantum Computers readily available is to buy a stockpile of them and store them in a Freighter. Storage containers in Freighters can hold four times the amount of Quantum Computers that the player inventory can hold, allowing more to be stored for fewer slots.
