Learn how to build and access the new structures in the No Man's Sky Frontiers update. These new structures are purely for cosmetic purposes, and they are all themed after the structures that appear in Settlements. While they can't be used to construct new buildings in the Settlement itself, they can be used to create bases with the Settlement theme in mind. Create new bases near the Settlement to always be close to the settlers.

The new No Man's Sky Construction Module additions are Timber, Alloy, and Stone. They can be purchased for Salvageable Data at the Construction Research Station located in the Anomaly, or at the station at a base. A couple of the Timber recipes will already be unlocked, but the majority of new items will still have to be earned. Salvageable Data can be earned by scanning and digging up modules on various planets. Use the ship's scanner module to check if a planet has Salvageable Data before landing.

All of the Timber structures are going to require Carbon. Find a planet with a lot of plant life and start mining them for Carbon. As new Timber structures are unlocked, some will need Pure Ferrite while others require Glass. Pure Ferrite can be found as a primary or secondary element in a few minerals, or it can be refined from Ferrite Dust, Magnetised Ferrite, or from a Rare Metal Element. Glass is another blueprint that has to be learned from the Construction Research Station in No Man's Sky. After the blueprint is learned, Glass can be built for 40 Frost Crystals.

In addition to using Carbon, Pure Ferrite, and Glass, many of the No Man's Sky Stone structures will need Silicate Powder or Ferrite Dust. Silicate Powder is a very common material to find, just use a mining tool on any planet's surface to acquire the material. Alloy structures will use the same materials as Stone structures, with the only change being that none of the structures call for Carbon or Silicate Powder.

All of these new building features can be accessed on gameplay with previously saved data. To build any of the structures near a Settlement, a new base will have to be built and claimed. The base computer has to place some distance away from the Settlement, otherwise, it cannot be claimed. Additionally, even if these new building structures are unlocked, there is no choice to be able to use them when creating new buildings for the settlers. Their buildings are already predetermined by what the structures are before a Settlement is found.
