Escape Room meets Saw in the trailer for the new horror film No Escape. Released in 2019, director Adam Robitel's Escape Room tapped into the popular party craze of puzzle rooms for an intense horror outing that went on to gross a surprisingly robust $155 million at the box office.

But before that Escape Room arrived to surprise at the box office, there was another much more obscure movie also called Escape Room with a similar premise. The director of that 2017 film, Will Wernick, is now back with a new movie entitled No Escape that again takes off from the premise of a group of friends participating in what they think is a fun evening of puzzle solving only to find themselves involved in a legitimately terrifying situation. The twist on the basic escape room premise this time is that there’s also a torture porn element reminiscent Saw and Hostel and other classics of that once-popular sub-genre. No Escape also delves into the world of YouTube celebrities as it centers on a man who's made his name taking on online challenges, who finds himself enduring a scenario that goes far beyond the usual innocent click-grabbing stunt. The film stars Keegan Allen, Holland Roden and Ronen Rubinstein and is set for release on September 18, 2020.

The synopsis for No Escape reads: “A social media personality travels with his friends to Moscow to capture new content for his successful VLOG. Always pushing the limits and catering to a growing audience, they enter a cold world of mystery, excess, and danger.”
