The Nintendo Switch Pro's rumored price increase over the current $300 base model has potentially been confirmed by a retailer leak. Similarly, the listing also appears to give fans an idea of when they can expect the long-awaited Nintendo Switch Pro to be revealed after months of tedious rumors. Of course, all of it could turn out to be false, but plenty of reports suggest things are headed in the direction suggested by the latest alleged leak.

The Nintendo Switch Pro was listed on Amazon with no pricing information just recently, but this seemed to indicate that an official announcement is likely coming very soon. All signs are now pointing toward June 3 for a proper unveiling, ahead of Nintendo's E3 2021 showing on June 15, but nothing has been confirmed or teased by the company itself. That said, even retailers are starting to suggest that could be true.

As pointed out by Nintend'Alerts (via VGC), the Nintendo Switch Pro was listed for  €398.90 by retailer Boulanger. Judging by the current €300 price tag of the base Nintendo Switch, which costs $300 USD in the US, this suggests a price hike of $100 for US customers to $400 for a Switch Pro. Another Switch Pro leak claims pre-orders will open on around midnight on June 4 according to retailer data, which gives more weight to the rumored June 3 reveal of the console.

Nintendo has yet to actually tease anything about a Switch upgrade, so, again, all of this could hype could end up resulting in nothing. However, given all of the information that's surfaced lately in sum - the retail listings, specific hardware details from reputable reports, and more - the Switch Pro is looking less like speculation and more like a poorly kept secret. It's rumored September - October 2021 release window could maintain Nintendo's sales edge over the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S this holiday season, especially if the company can continue to outproduce its current-gen competitors.

As of right now, it's unclear how substantial this console will really be to people who already own a Nintendo Switch. It may or may not be worth the extra $100 for current owners. They may change their minds soon, though, as Nintendo has finalized its plans for E3 2021, where it's expected to reveal major new titles and details about upcoming games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Whether or not any of the E3 2021 titles will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch Pro remains to be seen, but showing players why upgraded performance could be worth their money could be the company's goal in its upcoming Nintendo Direct.
