A prominent leaker now claiming that Nintendo Switch Pro preorders will start on June 4, meaning a reveal could very well be imminent. In the days leading up to the Switch Pro's reported pre-E3 2021 reveal, the rumors surrounding the upgraded hybrid console have been quickly picking up steam, and this latest report closely matches other recent and credible information.

There have been murmurs of a Nintendo Switch Pro (as it's unofficially called) being in the works for quite some time. However, speculation based on past Nintendo handheld and home console revisions has quickly turned into more concrete possibility, with several reports corroborating one another in recent weeks and months. Plenty of specific, technical details have reportedly surfaced, including claims that the major hardware revision will have a larger display, play games at 4K, and that the Switch Pro dock will be bigger and include an ethernet port. With all of this information coming out at once, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before an official reveal occurs, be it during or before E3.

Well-known Pokémon leaker CentroLeaks claims on Twitter that it has received a verified screenshot stating that Nintendo Switch Pro retail listings will go live on "June 4 (around midnight)." CentroLeaks also states that this listing is a non-US listing from a US retailer. When asked why they would post this without evidence, they responded with “Evidence that would get our sources fired? Of course not.” Later, CentroLeaks posted an update identifying the existence of a second listing for June 30, speculating that the now-past date is "probably a placeholder."

While it’s known that Nintendo will be at E3 2021, what exactly the company has planned isn't yet known. Nintendo has at last set its digital presentation for June 15, where it promises to show 40 minutes of game reveals "mostly releasing in 2021" and three hours of Threehouse Live gameplay (as it's done during past E3 conferences). The rumored decision to reveal the Switch Pro before Nintendo’s E3 presentation will no doubt significantly affect what will be presented during the actual event.

Of course, this is all under the assumption that most of the Switch Pro reports and rumors are real. While a more powerful and expensive Switch doesn't seem too farfetched, it’s by no means guaranteed, and there’s always the chance that June 3 (and perhaps even E3) will pass without any Nintendo confirmation of the console. Until that happens, skepticism is the best approach. If all of these leaks and rumors do culminate in the reveal of a Nintendo Switch Pro, though, then it's likely that prospective customers wouldn't have to wait long to see it in action.
