There is a lot of buzz around the games Nintendo will be releasing for the Switch in 2022. Between games coming from other platforms, DLCs, and brand new titles, every Switch gamer has something that they are looking forward to in the coming year.

In March alone there are several game releases that may be worth the buy. February's Nintendo Direct announced the newest installment in the Kirby games, as well as a DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, both of which will be released in March. As well as these titles, games of a variety of genres will be available this month, so there should be something to make every kind of fan happy.

Triangle Strategy (March 4, 2022)

This brand new game is the latest creation of Square Enix, so players can expect a beautiful game. Triangle Strategy combines stunning 3D worlds with 2D pixilated characters. The result is a gorgeous adventure that players may quickly fall in love with.

Nintendo's website says that the game allows players to command a group of warriors in a war between three different nations. The storyline will depend on the player's choices. Gamers can play the game several times and explore different options.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode (March 10, 2022)

This game is the remastered version of the PlayStation 2 games and contains all three volumes. The remastered version was originally released for the Playstation 4 in 2017, and it is now coming to the portable screen on March 10th.

The .hack franchise is about an MMORPG called The World that becomes very popular. However, The World players sometimes mysteriously become comatose. The .hack//G.U. games follow Haseo, a player who becomes determined to find answers after his friend falls into a coma.

Chocobo GP (March 10, 2022)

Square Enix's popular ridable birds are coming to a new racing game. Chocobo GP allows players to choose from an adorable group of Chocobo characters, each of whom has their own unique abilities. A Chocobo is a large bird that players can ride in many of the Final Fantasy games and they have become a beloved icon of the franchise.

Square's website describes how players can do split-screen style local multiplayer, or race online in tournaments, giving them the chance to rank as the Chocobo racing champion. With so many racing game fans focusing on Mario Kart, Chocobo GP is likely to be an underrated game of 2022, so Final Fantasy fans will have to spread the word.

The Cruel King And The Great Hero (March 15, 2022)

This adorable game is the perfect cozy adventure for gamers who appreciate a good story and good art.  Nintendo's website announced that The Cruel King and the Great Hero follows a young girl on her quest to become a hero, accompanied by her dragon friend.

Players can collect items, upgrade weapons, make friends, and earn rewards for helping them out. The art is in a hand-drawn style, giving this game a unique charm that will likely make this game one of the most stunning games of 2022.

Phantom Breaker: Omnia (March 15, 2022)

Phantom Breaker: Omnia is a 1v1 fighting game that follows up the game Phantom Breaker: Extra, which was released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2013. This newer version will follow the same 2D anime fighter format.

Nintendo announced the game will have a 20 player roster and 3 different fighting styles for players to choose from: quick, hard, and Omnia. No matter the choice, the resulting battle will be fast-paced and full of action.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (March 17, 2022)

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a fighting game that was originally released as an arcade game in 2013 and then released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 shortly after. The game's story follows along with the JRPG Persona series and picks up two months after the events of Persona 4.

This game is a classic fighter, with 2 players fighting against each other with unique moves and abilities. The developer, Altus, has preorders available on their site for the March 17 release.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass (March 18, 2022)

One of the most exciting announcements from February 2022's Nintendo direct was the release of a new DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is anticipated to be one of the best Nintendo Switch game DLCs. This new content will include 48 remastered courses from various Mario Kart titles, such as Mario Kart Tour.

Nintendo explains that the courses will be released in 6 waves of 8 courses each. The first wave will be released on March 18 and will have the Golden Dash Cup and Lucky Cat Cup, each including favorite courses such as Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur.

Kirby And The Forgotten Land (March 25, 2022)

Another game revealed at Nintendo Direct was the newest Kirby game, Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This game will take place in an abandoned world, with signs of past civilizations everywhere, such as malls or amusement parks.

Nintendo's trailer for the game showed a 3D world with the stunning, bright colors often associated with Kirby games. Players will be able to copy new abilities from enemies, such as drill and ranger.

Rune Factory 5 (March 22, 2022)

This adorable farming RPG is the newest installment in the Rune factory games. Players will be able to choose a boy or girl character who will live in the town of Rigbarth. The main character is the newest member of an organization called SEED, which is focused on protecting the town from threats.

Nintendo's website explains that players can not only take on exciting adventures by discovering their player's powers, but also grow crops, go fishing, craft new items, and even find love.

Crystar (March 29, 2022)

Crystar was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2019 but is now coming to the Switch. The game follows Rei, who suddenly finds herself in a purgatory-like world full of dangers. When she loses her sister, she makes a deal with demons to bring her back.

Players can switch between a variety of characters to fight lost souls, relying on the strength contained in the character's tears. Upon the game's release on March 29th, fans who preorder will also be able to get a limited-edition collection that includes not only the game but the soundtrack, art book, visual diary, cloth poster, and more.
