Now is the time to get one's hands on some Nintendo Switch exclusives, as Amazon is currently running a sale on a handful of Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda titles, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. These AAA games don't go on sale too often, so fans won't want to miss the discounts.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild sees Link in an open-world setting, awakening after a years-long slumber with very few memories, setting out to defeat Calamity Ganon, exploring the kingdom of Hyrule, and recalling his past along the way. The game does very little hand-holding as players solve puzzles to unlock and complete new quests. In this way, Breath of the Wild takes on a different gameplay approach than many other titles in the Zelda franchise, and that departure may be part of the reason it's the series' bestseller. In 2018, Breath of the Wild was Nintendo's third bestselling Switch exclusive, with more than 9 million units sold.

Amazon's sale discounts Zelda: Breath of the Wild by $20, bringing the price from $59.99 to $39.99. It's important to note that the sale only includes the physical Nintendo Switch version of the game, not the digital download code. The sale also does not apply to any of the game's special edition bundles. To snag this Zelda: BOTW deal, all customers need is an Amazon Prime membership. Check out the full list of Nintendo Switch exclusives on sale below:

Nintendo's eShop does not regularly discount its first-party titles, so it's best for savvy shoppers to always compare prices from retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. In any case, it's a good idea to keep an eye on Amazon for video game deals across all home consoles. Back in October, Prime Day saw the same Breath of the Wild deal, as well as sales on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC titles. As an added bonus, Amazon's Prime membership includes access to Prime Gaming deals on PC games and in-game content, so multi-platform gamers can really get the most bang for their buck by watching Amazon sales.

It's slated to be a big year for Nintendo, as the first few months of 2021 alone will see the gaming giant continue its celebration of Mario's 35th anniversary. The highly-anticipated Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury will arrive in February. Looking further down the line, Zelda fans are eagerly awaiting news on the Breath of the Wild sequel, and analysts are predicting that a Nintendo Switch Pro will launch in 2021. There's no better way for Nintendo Switch fans to celebrate the year ahead than snagging some of the console's best exclusives.
