Warning: SPOILERS for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95

Those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans who have been keeping up with their comic book adventures know that the latest Issue #95 ended with a giant cliffhanger. The Turtle brothers have teamed up with women over the years--Ninja Turtles fan-favorite April O'Neil chief among the--but they're now working with a female ninja turtle. Even stranger? They created her.

It's a time of internal strife among the Foot Clan, with Karai expanding her control through the underworld of New York City. But after making the decision to confront the Foot Clan's secondary leader, Jennika, and having her offer of partnership refused... she overreacts. Impaling Jennika with her sword to prove it that she means business, the strange sequence of events leading to the creation of a female Ninja Turtle is put into motion.

As the current love interest of Jennika, Casey Jones rushes to save her, while Karai asks who will die next for Splinter. Casey fortunately gets her to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' van, but are unable to stop the bleeding from her wounds. Eventually running out of options, and knowing that Jennika is in desperate need of blood, Donatello takes matters into his own hands. He performs an emergency blood transfusion, using Leonardo's mutant blood... which causes an unexpected side effect. Jennika is saved, but the mutant blood transforms her into a turtle. That's right where the issue ends, but thankfully IDW has released a few revealing photos. Check out the first look at Jennika, the yellow-coded female Ninja Turtles joining the team in the next issue.

Jennika's new look includes a yellow mask, a cloak, and even some claws. Seeing her with a mask means she must be on the team now, right? How will Casey Jones, her love interest, feel about her transformation? The next issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is sure to answer plenty of questions--and maybe even show her leaping into action along with her turtle brethren. But if you're hoping to read this story for yourself, there's no need to worry: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95 has gone into a 2nd printing. Unfortunately, fans shouldn't make any plans to pick up their copy at the coming San Diego Comic-Con. IDW has announced they will not be selling any copies at the show, for fear of "stampedes."

With issues featuring Jennika's birth selling on eBay for up to $270, IDW is taking efforts to avoid any disasters. And if that doesn't show how massive this story really is, then nothing will! The same can be expected for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #96, where we are sure to see a lot more of Jennika, when it hits shelves on July 31st (pre-order your copy now).
