Video game streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins claims that he once made $5 million in a single month just off of Fortnite creator codes alone. As of April 2021, Ninja has the largest following on Twitch with more than 16 million followers.

After starting his professional video game career in 2009 with Halo 3, Blevins launched a streaming channel a few years later beginning with titles such as H1Z1 and PUBG. It was not until the launch of Fortnite in 2017, however, when the streamer was catapulted into superstardom. Blevins began streaming the title shortly after its release and his viewership grew as the game's popularity became more widespread. By the following year, Ninja was setting Twitch viewership records and reaping the financial rewards that came with that success. Ninja was also a leader when it came to Fortnite's Creator Codes, which allowed content creators to design their own content that players can buy and show their support their favorite creators.

A report by Dexerto reveals that in just one month of 2018, Blevins made around $5 million just off of Fortnite creator codes. What makes this all the more remarkable is the fact that creators only get around 5-percent of every one of these purchases made, meaning that Fortnite developer Epic Games earned around $100 million just off of Ninja's creator codes during that month. It is estimated that Blevins ended up making about $25 million in total throughout 2018, meaning that nearly 20-percent of his income that year came in one month from just one source.

These are some astronomical numbers and while Blevins may not be making exactly that amount now, it seems that he is maintaining a steady income that still massive. Not only that, but the Ninja brand continues to keep huge audiences on multiple platforms beyond Twitch. This likely can be attributed to Blevins' adaptability with games other than Fortnite that have helped grow his brand, especially since he recently took a hiatus from the title that was crucial to his extreme success.

The rise of Ninja is one of those instances where everything aligned perfectly to create a resounding success story. It was a combination of hard work and luck that happens to very few people. At the time of Fortnite's release, Blevins already had a substantial following that took years to cultivate. When he chose to play and stream that title shortly after its launch, there was no way of knowing just how popular it would become and that is where the luck comes in. Yet luck alone does not generate the income figures Ninja made in 2018 and continues to make today. There was a lot of hard work that led up to that point and he should be commended for it.
