Nikki and Brie Bella are twin sisters and the stars of Total Bellas, and they are introducing their baby boys, Matteo and Buddy respectively, to the world! Giving birth 22 hours apart, the WWE wrestlers are opening up about their labors and deliveries, as well as what it's like to have newborns at home.
Nikki and fiancé Artem Chigvintsev, a pro from Dancing With the Stars, welcomed their first child Matteo into their lives on July 31. Brie and husband and wrestler Daniel Bryan, parents to a 3-year-old daughter, Birdie, gave birth to their first son Buddy Dessert on August 1. These two babies will help to keep Total Bellas fans tuning in.
Sitting down with People magazine, the sisters chimed in about how happy but exhausted they are. They loved bringing their babies home and welcoming their infants into their lives. "Like Nikki said, the love is just so overpowering that even though you're so tired, that bliss just takes over," Brie remarks. Nikki, who was in labor for 22 hours, opened up about the reality of complications during childbirth. Originally due on August 6, Nikki was on her way to inducing labor when her water broke at the doctor's office. Giving birth in the dead of a heatwave and global pandemic was not the easiest for this glam reality star. "I had two more rounds of pushing [to go] until my doctor said, 'You're going to have to have a c-section.' I said, 'No, he's coming out vaginally.'... I have never pushed so hard in my life. I almost tore off the handlebars!" Brie, on the other hand, was scheduled for a C-section on August 1st, stating, "When they pulled out Buddy, they put down the curtain, and my husband was like, 'Oh, I got a boy!' We were really overwhelmed with joy."
For Nikki, Brie, and their partners, it's surely a time filled with lots of love and no sleep. The WWE legends seem to be over the moon about their newborn Total Bellas sons. These babies will probably be lifelong friends. Nikki shares: "What's crazy about Buddy and Mateo is, they both have the same scream-cry. It's the cutest high-pitch noise and they're identical. Even their coos are identical and they're so cute."
