Warning! Spoilers for Nightwing #88 by DC Comics

The Flash and DC's smartest hero, Mister Terrific, are combining their mighty intellect to give Nightwing a brand new costume. In Nightwing #88, Wally West and Michael Holt reveal they've created a new costume for the hero that is a considerable upgrade from his past suit as it offers much more protection and flexibility than ever before. The new costume also brings back an iconic design element from one of Nightwing's past suits.

Nightwing has worn many iconic looks since Dick Grayson took on the role after being Batman's sidekick for many years. His original Nightwing suit might have been his most ridiculous ensemble, as it made the hero look like a disco star, featuring a popped collar and a color scheme that was all over the place. Eventually, Nightwing would get a more simplified ensemble, with his most famous look featuring the hero in a black and blue (and sometimes red) costume with an eye mask to match. Now, Nightwing is getting another upgrade courtesy of Wally West and Mister Terrific.

In Nightwing #88 by Tom Taylor, Bruno Redondo, Adriano Lucas, and Andworld Design, Dick Grayson makes a public appearance in revealing the Alfred Pennyworth Foundation to help homeless youngsters in Bludhaven. But, the celebration is cut short when a group of snipers tries to assassinate him, leading the Teen Titans to intervene. When Wally West catches up with Dick, he asks him why he's not wearing more protective gear. So, the Flash takes Nightwing for a ride to Mister Terrific's lab, where he offers him a new-and-improved suit.

DC's smartest hero, Mister Terrific, reveals to Dick he's constructed a new bulletproof costume that can fit under his civilian clothes. The costume is more flexible than ever, can withstand dangerous attacks, and has "other features" as well. Nightwing immediately returns to Bludhaven with his new suit and helps take down Blockbuster's soldiers. The suit looks incredible in action, as it features the return of Nightwing's striped fingers.

The costume isn't too much of a change aesthetically from Nightwing's past look besides a few small details, but it's a much safer suit as it's built to be much more protective for the hero. Mister Terrific and The Flash gave Dick Grayson a suit that will make him a better hero while providing numerous defensive upgrades. Plus, it looks great.
