Spoilers for Nightwing #98 by DC Comics below

Dick Grayson's ongoing series continues to be full of surprises, as DC Comics just revealed Nightwing #98 would feature the debut of Nite-Mite. On his Twitter account, artist Bruno Redondo shared his upcoming cover for the issue, which features Nightwing getting his own version of Batman's Bat-Mite, as the imp-like creature will soon join the hero's adventures.

Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo have breathed much-needed life into the current Nightwing series at DC Comics, as the pair have taken the hero back to Bludhaven as he deals with the villain Blockbuster, rampant corruption, and using his inheritance from Alfred Pennyworth to make his city a better place. In addition, Dick Grayson has reconnected with Barbara Gordon as the pair have taken in the adorable three-legged dog, Haley, aka Bitewing. Now, Nightwing is about to get his own version of Bat-Mite, as the new character will debut in Nightwing #98.

Nightwing writer Tom Taylor teased that a new character was coming to the series, and on Friday, artist Bruno Redondo revealed his new cover art starring Nite-Mite on Twitter. The character is Nightwing's version of Bat-Mite, a cutesy (albeit annoying) imp with incredible magical powers from the Fifth dimension. The original character first appeared in Detective Comics #267 by Bill Finger and Sheldon Moldoff. The character has appeared in numerous animated Batman shows and has appeared in the comics for more than 60 years. Bat-Mite was even referenced in the Peace-Maker television series on HBO Max. Check out Redondo's cover starring Nite-Mite, which was designed by artist Daniele Di Nicuolo.

Nite-Mite will make its comic book debut in Nightwing #98. Di Nicuolo shared his designs for the character, which he revealed was manga-inspired, which is evident by the hero's design.

Additionally, artist Dan Hipp shared his variant cover for Nightwing #98, which features Nightwing's version of Batman pulling on his hair, much to the frustration of Dick Grayson, who has seemingly had enough with the annoying and excitable magical imp.

Nightwing getting his own version Bat-Mite should make for an entertaining and entirely unpredictable comic adventure. Will the magical imp character be a positive force or a hindrance in Dick Grayson's life? Given how annoying Bat-Mite could be for Batman and other DC heroes, expect Nite-Mite to stick his nose where it doesn't belong in Dick's life. Readers will find out more when Nite-Mite makes his comic book debut in Nightwing #98, which arrives in comic book stores later this year.
